What should i do when the river is frozen???

water pump and bucket wont work when the river is frozen, so what should I do? Is there an Item to crack the ice? ive tried everything an my hand but nothing works

If you turn the new water pressure system off, the river will no longer freeze. That was in the last hotfix after the new game mechanics were introduced. Look in the Gameplay settings.

It turned on for me pretrty early in the new game I recently started, and that is how I got around the issue until I was ready to turn the new system back on. Which had to wait until I could rebuild the water tower. As a stop gap, if you want to leave the pressure system on, you can get a fairly inexpensive water tank trailer from the shop and fill it up at the water tower in town. One note, of you use that mobile water tank and go to fill it, you may need to disconnect the trailer from your truck while filling as you get an error message about not being on level ground when you hook it up to fill it. At least it did shortly after the release of the new pressure system.

Now's the time to take care of any other activities that don't need water from the stream (trips to town, collecting stories, etc). If there aren't any, then just go to the trailer and 'E' forward by the hour until the temperature is above freezing.

Just curious - is the water in the panning tub also frozen? Do you have any previously collected buckets of concentrate to pan? (hint - plan work around the weather as best as possible - same idea for in the summer when the stream is dry).

Nope water bucket isnt frozen but i slept a few nights.

To solve the frozen river, buy the water tower if you have the money

I have the mobile water tank but I am having trouble finding where to "fill that in the city". I see a water tower but no luck. I'm sure I'm missing something.

Never mind. Found it. There are 2 water towers in town. The one by the gas station is the one to get water at.

It tells me I need to pay 150K to repair it. I need to repair the city water supply so I can buy water?! Is this a bug?
