Tier 2 - basic vs. complete
I'm entering autum of my first year and looking at selling gold and buying tier 2 equipment when prices are cheaper before winter.

Near as I can tell a basic tier 2 setup costs about $200k at current prices and the max tier 2 about 800k (including a second vehicle on site).

I can't for the life of me imagine running the small excavator back and forth to the to trommel in the basic setup. Does that make any sense at all? The thing moves so freaking slowly I'd get about 1/10 as many buckets washed as using the mobile and only moving the excavator once a day.

Am I missing something?

Second question; I understand I have to move all equipment into the shed during the winter. But does that include the Big Power generator, trommel, shaker, hopper, conveyer as well? Doesn't seem like that storage building will take all of that and the door is too low to use the excavator to get the stuff in.

I think only trailers & vehicles. The washplant equipment should be ok if left on the washplant location. But good idea to remove hoses & cables & store those.

Can you afford front loader? I know the bug will affect, but it's only way to move dirt into tier 2 more quicker than small excavator.

No need to move washplants equipment and big fuel/big generators in shed.

Thaks for the replies!

I am thinking I'll hold out till I can afford the hopper, conveyor and rock truck.

I take it store the generators and water pumps? Wave table and magnetite seperator?

Thanks!

What kind of equipment cost savings should I see right before winter? As low as 50%?

Remove all broken parts only.

Havebt done the math but big ex for example is 90k only tha last two days before perma, drill is 153k or somthing. For full T3 setup it saves a ton of cash to buy right before perma, the last two days are the cheapest.

To be clear, last two days before permafrost = last two days of autumn? ie: does permafrost automatically set in on day 1 of winter or is there some variability to it? Do you know when it will happen 'tomorrow'?

Permafrost is after winter, after autumn its 7 days of winter then comes permafrost in witch ure forced to hotel. The very last two days of winter is the best time to shop new stuff and stock up on spare parts :)
As for frozen ground it happens during the first day of winter, and u need dozer to be able to dig, but when permafrost sets after 7 days of winter u cant do anything and are forced to hotel.

Thank you for clarifying all that!
