How much have you drilled? There are rich spots on that claim that are real rich, same happens on the other claims.

how did you afford to buy another claim?

so far id have to agree, i was finding on the weakest sqs on the map at OAP, was at least 160oz gold, whereas in river town, im finidng at best on 2nd best gold chart colour around 90-120oz of gold in the square

I'm on normal mode, bought Old Arnold when I had mined about 1/8 of the claim and now at about 1/6 of the claiim I have enough cash to buy River Town. Of course now that I'm hearing the gold isn't even as good as Old Arnold I'm a little concerned about buying it for 1.2 million.

Per what I've seen in various "Let's play" videos, Old Arnold is somewhat 'peanut-butter'd in its gold distribution. It's never really rich in any area, nor is it especially bad. I'd imagine other claims have pockets of gold that are rather rich, but the downside is that there's places where running the dirt doesn't pay for the fuel.

after drilling about 50 -100 sqs i can confirm ruvertown DOES have gold however its very much in paystreaks surrounded by trash squares, rather than just a fair spread everywhere, i found a small 8 sq paystreak that estimated 1050oz in that total area

And that wouldn't pay for buying and working the claim. I have enough to buy it and if that's all I'll get out of it it would be more profitable to finish cleaning out the 80% of Old Arnold I still have left to do.

it wasnt the only pay streak on the claim but it does seem like a complete annoyance to find the good paydirt
gold is random, 1 might get a lot while the next person might get almost nothing. so you need to drill your own claim to know whats in yours. maybe rent the claim first then after drilling buy it? ;)

I understand that gold distribution is random but the description of the claims at the bank indicate that the relative totals are not random and that River Town is greater than Old Arnold. Is that not always true?

that may be the worst advice/selling point ive seen about this game (no offence), you should get more gold the more expensive the claim is, im not saying theres no rng to it, but there should be at least more gold than OAP, considering the OAP has expected gold of low, and river town has medium
I do believe the better claims will have better gold. but what im saying is that if i go on my claim i can maybe see a total of 1 mil worth of gold. and you can go on your claim and see 1,5 mil.

so its not because some1 states that on his claim its not worth it, that it will be the same for you.

btw those are random numbers not actual in-game figures

that isnt what you said originally, but thank you for your updated response

my responeses as in gold number has been a response to comeone else saying OAP has low gold spread out, where as river town (for many lets plays ect not just me) have had concentrated areas instead of a whole beginner learning claim

I just clarified my first statement. and as you are stating OA has more of a beginners vibe to it. but as gold is random it is possible then for some ppl rivertown is more of the same or for some ppl the claim might be "worse" then OA, thats why it pays of to drill the claim first. not just buy it strait away.

i totally understand what your saying, but maybe there could to be a feature inserted into the game where you can maybe drill a certain amout of test hold, or even just pay for exmaple 50k or something to get a "survey" done before you cough up 300k and potentially have a bad claim

just a little suggestion, because i do enjoy this game alot, despite flaws in the game engine ect i still do find alot of enjoyment out of the game, this is the furthest ive been so far without using $1 mode or just giving up
