i cant smelt my gold

I have 25.59 ounces of gold ore i go to blacksmith to smelt it and i cant. I can only sell the ore what am i missing?

Do you have enough money? If you´re broke you have to sell some raw ore first.

ah what a greenhorn i am. I found out the blacksmith and magnitite have been reworked. That smelting now takes time and magnitite is needed to upgrade the blacksmith. But at least you dont have to upgrade blacksmith before you can smelt ore at all right? Just makes smelting faster and less expensive.

No don't have to upgrade prior to smelting. In fact when starting the game, it will take you a while to get enough magnetite to do some of the first upgrades. But you still have to have enough funds to smelt the ore. I have had to smelt small amounts - run small bar to bank - then smelt remainder of gold.

But the upgrades do add up, & are well worth doing, in that they cut losses, reduce cost of smelting, etc..

as stated above the smith wont allow you to smellt more then you have money for. if you have 0 dollars you cant smellt at all and you will need to sell some raw ore to the smith first
