i dont know how much rick makes off of parkers gold % if any other than dailly pay.either way its always better to have your own company so he can make the big bucks, given you get gold that is.
and its time for him to get out from under parker and move on.and parker will be hard pressed to replace him.

I was going to post about this last night but forgot.

I like Rick and look forward to watching next season, but it would have been nice to have see some new faces on the show. I'm interested to see if he ends up with any of Parker's crew also. I'm sure there will be some competition between Rick and Parker now!
Unless Rick has made a very good deal for both land and equipment...there will be no competition for quite a while.

Have to remember that parker has spent years building up his millions of dollars worth of equipment that he uses on his operations.

Wish Rick well...but he is in for quite a shock when it is him people are depending on for pay checks, and having everything needed for an mining operation to work.
He may just be running a crew on someone else's land and with their equipment. Time will tell.
Without the Hoffmans Discovery needs another company, only with Parker and Tony Beets the show would be boring.

Too bad in Germany we are 6 weeks behind, season 8 has 4 episodes to be aired. Without this game forum we wouldn't even know that Hoffmans are quitting the show after the season. See https://www.fernsehserien.de/die-schatzsucher-goldrausch-in-alaska/episodenguide (on the right is the first airing date in US, left in Germany, on "Sendetermine" you can see when the shows will be / have been aired).
"Gold Rush: White Water" (Dakota Fred's suction dredge) is already aired complete in US, here is not even an announcement. https://www.fernsehserien.de/gold-rush-white-water/episodenguide

Well with hoffmans out, gota have some failure in the show. And sleeves are for nerds.
Watch out for Dozer Dave. I think her will be making an appearance, hopefully with Freddy Dodge.

We can hope
i was thinking that Hunter would take over for todd with dave as his right hand....

Parker will do the same thing to Rick that Tony did to Parker. keep an efficent cashflow coming in :-)

rick is going on his own and will probably lease land from someone or take over land from the hoffmans.

Rick probably won`t go south to the Hoffmans.

Tony as a landlord maybe? :-)
Was this announced on Parkers Trail: Jungle edition? Haven't had a chance to watch that yet.

Parker has land now. The 'Occam's Razor' solution would be for Rick to have his own mining company and lease from Parker which would undoubtedly create good drama friction for the show.

Would be interesting to see Parker assume the land lord role.

If not Parker then Tony Beets. I could readily see Tony Beets wanting to lure Rick away from Parker by giving him a better deal than he'd given Parker (say 15% or 18% royalty).

1. Tony is familiar with Rick and knows he's a good miner with much better 'people skills' than Parker

2. It would piss Parker off to no end, which would be a huge win for Tony

3. Very low risk move for Rick as he's familiar with the area/ground

4. Will be very interesting to see how many of Parkers crew goes with Rick, but if he's taking any of Parkers crew I'm sure he'll have to operate in a new location due to existing non-compete clauses those members signed with Parker

Yeah he told parker on the show!
Watched the first few episodes of Parkers Trail. Definitely looks like he's not going to renting from Parker. Was surprised how well Parker handled the news.

Sounds like Rick has at least the core of his team lined up. My guess is he's going to get Freddy Dodge. I read an interview were he pegged Dodge as one of three members of his 'dream team' of miners if he were to start his own company. I think Gene was also on that list but I don't see him getting Gene away from Tony, although Gene wasn't real happy with building barges for Tony.

Also, Dave Turin indicated on his facebook page that he'd be mining gold in the coming year but they were still in planning and didn't want to announce anything.

We'll see.

Sounded like he's got his own land lined up but it wasn't clear if he was buying or leasing. If he brought in someone like Freddy Dodge or Dave Turin that would really help with equipment.
