Hog pan site Old arnold.
How many shovel loads of dirt is there? How much gold is it possible to get from it? Is it worth it to dig it all out?

You don't need to dig it out. But you can dig the first 3 days on it (get the wave table early, panning takes too much time), you'll make enough gold to have a higher loan and you can start T2 with the big excavator instead of the smaller one.

Of course I know that, but I want to know what i left behind . Has anyone actually cleaned out the hog pan site? If you use metric, you actually only need ONE hog pan wash before the"jackpot"

I haven't cleared it out, only about one quarter to one third. The amount og gold was about 2 $ each bucket. The "big nugget" was after I picked the first nugget out of the pan but I've skipped it.

It's not worth because there are no hotspots. Just go for hotspots. 60-70% of a claim aren't worth mining it because you don't have much gold per yard. I started at the new claim and with my first run I had round about 800 Ounces of gold before I hit the hotspot. You might think that 800 Ounces are much gold but with my second run and same amount of buckets I got 2782 Ounces of gold. I've mined for 18 days (12 hours per day) right now and got 5031 Ounces of gold.

How do you locate hotspots?

I cleaned out the hog pan area at arnold in season 2 and got around 625k from magnetite and gold. There was ~200oz of gold. I only ended up with 150oz because of rent. Bought Arnold claim with it but it was definitely not efficient use of time.
There were hot and cold spots int he hog pan area. The best I got was 3.5oz from full 100% mats on extended hog pan and lowest was about .8oz.

I did a quick estimate on the "new begining".
Dug out about 5100 shovels, got about 200 oz of gold. took about 28 in game days.Used 1,5 jerry cans of fuel and a lot of buckets to keep digging at a steady pace. Probably lost an oz or two because of not paying attention to full mats :steamfacepalm:
So with a lot of work at hog pan site and a maximum loan at the bank, there is possible to skip tier 2 if one wish.
If we could get bigger buckets and shovels,I would clear every hog pan site jus becouse I don't want to leave anything behind :steamhappy:

I'm about halfway clear through it. It's just grind work at this point, but the manetite keeps it profitable. No fleck left behind.
