Diffrence between new game vs season 2 ... vs upcoming season 3 ...??

As far as i tested there is absolut no diffrence between jumping into season 2 from my savegames then starting a complete new game. In both we are starting from scratch, even when starting a new game it shows S2 (season2) in the top-right corner.
Right, or did i missed something?
In season 2 when i go and "click" on hotel it says "season 3 not available yet" (or something similar). So does that mean, when we get season 3 (maybe, for example, when a damage and repair system get implemented), we will forced to start from zero again??

This is a seriously meant question! I hope this wont touch any deleted thread, i really don't wont to brake any forum rules. I only want to know if there is any reason for me to go on playing at the moment ...

Yes, new games will start on season 2 by default. If you have an old game, you will be on season 1, which you can still play on, but you wont be able to use the drill or the new washplant pieces. Season 3 will be at some point in the future, no info on that yet.

If you want to keep your current progress, but also try out season 2, You would be best off just starting a new savegame for a season 2 playthrough.

Season 2 introduces many changes to the ground and gold and it's best that a reset is made. I voted for option 2 (keep gold and money) but as we know option 1 was the way it went.

This time a reset was okay. But if they reset every season this game makes no sense. Hopefully they've reset due to the changes to the ground.

It's not just gold and money. If you will lose all your machines, claims and have to rebuy them at the start of any season, this is gonna be ridiculous.

$1 mode is always an option if it really bothers you that much.

Is $1 mode only for machinery or does this include the trailers, and all equipment within the store?

Thanks for the replies so far. Some scratched what i'm trying to point at. If someone had told me, when i bought GR:TG, respectively played a few hours, that all my effort get erased, i would have stopped playing GR:TG imediatly, and waited till all is fixed , even when this hapens sometime next year.
DON'T GET THIS WRONG!!! This isn't meant as a negativ review or something similar!
I PERSONALLY don't like re-playing games, there are more then 200 games in my steam-account, and not to mention other plattforms like origin, ubi or my PS4, enough stuff to spend my time on. If such a restart is supposed to happen again, i would prefer to spend my time in other games and wait till everything is fine in GR:TG game although it would be nice to keep an eye on it right now. Would increase my personal gaming experience in GR:TG.
Time isn't endless, you know ...

EDIT:
It's not only about lost gold or cash, i personally liked to see how many soil i processed, how many work was done on my claim!!

Whats up with moving equipment/machines to claim from storage. After fully upgrading, I can only do at most 15 on the claim?

As soon as I got to the new claim, and got onto the dirt, my truck transported itself ONTO some equipment and is now stuck. Awesome.

You can only transport the maxium it allows you.

As far as i know there should be 15 slots for you to place down all 15 bought items but you cant have more than 15.
