Cant Get joystick to work

I have a logitech 3d pro joystick, Had no problem using it but then needed to reinstall windows and the game. Now i cant change the keyboard inputs to the joystick. I may be missing something?? I downloaded the Logitech program that shows what buttons etc are being pressed/used and everything works.

Any Help is welcome

When i attached mine i just plugged it in then went to controller (im sure it was) and just changed the buttons that way.

I have the same controler, I think. (logitach dual action) I just click any button on it to change from keyboard/mouse to controller, and any key to change back to keyboard/mouse.

I have one of these controllers, and i know it was plug and play back in the pre-alpha. If i have time later on ill try to remember to see if it still works

i personally dont have that controller but i have found the old trick of pluging it in before you power on the computer then not unpluging it as long as its running is a good way to ensure the game/ pc is fully seeing the controller

I thought the same thing, but alas that is not the problem. I didn't have any problem when i installed 2+ months ago only after the re-instalation of both windows and GoldRush.

ok try this then lets start from the beginning. for the sake of things because im positive this isnt a game issue as reinstalling windows is quite a major system upset.

1 make sure its plunged in to a known working Rear usb port. (rear ports can provide more power then front ports most front ports start suffering voltage drop at 350-500 mA draw. where rears dont have that issue as bad they dont suffer any till the draw hits closer to 900ma to 1.1 amp)

2 restart your pc (goes with out saying but gotta mention it)

3 hit your windows key + the r key to bring up the run prompt the type in
devmgmt.msc
this will bring up the device manager in windows

4 locate your controller in the menu (mine appears under xbox perfs.) double click on it click on the drivers t. then click on update driver.

5 restart your pc again (get use to this pattern when your troubleshooting it forces the pc to begin using the new changes)

6 start steam and gr go to settings controls etc. and see if the controller is there.
if the controller is not there go to a known working game that you had used that controller with before (not goldrush) if it works with the other game its a controller gold rush issue if its not working with the new game its a physical controller pc issue.

7 if it still is not working does this controller have a changeable cable like the xbox one wireless uses. if it does try a known working cord. failing that do you have a second controller of a different style?

Thank you very much for the help, Followed the instruction untill (go to a known working game ) I dont have any other games that use a joystick :( In fact i bought the joystick to play Gold Rush. Would you know of a free game i could try? Again Thank you for the help.

i believe flight simulator x has a demo version that u can get for free, that game is meant for a joystick.

Thank you for the reply. I will try it asap.... But

I went to logitech to get an answer....They refered me to Microsoft....After 2 hours with a "tech" and while they had remote control of my computer they restarted my computer in safe mode without networking :( unable to get the computer to start in normal mode i am once again reinstalling windows). there are 237 updates (or so) so it will be another day to before i will be able to try to try to get the joystick to work.

I can use joystick in World of warplanes but not in Gold RUsh :( I guess it is a Gold Rush Issue :(

Still waiting for a reply from CH :( they are not to quick to address this issue and game is basicly unplayable with out the joystick......

You can use a controller. If you are planning to use just 1 jotstick then there is no point really as you kinda need 2.

You CANT use the same identicle joystick either.

I have 2 thurstmaster master ones but both are different modles, i plug one in and set up the keys for that one then shut down the game, unplug the sitck and plug in the other one and do the same for that, once done i shutdown and plug them both in and then i can use both.

Is your controller usb? My computer has both usb 2 and 3. Some devices wont work on 3.0.
Has to be usb 2.0.

I have 2 joysticks, they are not the same model, Cant get the seetings to see either of them. They can be used in other game but not Gold Rush.

Still waiting for CH to respond 3 weeks later :(
