Magnetite
Is the pay off from magnetite worth the investment in the machines you need for it or just leave it for late game ?

I use the separator, but run the "dirt" over to the hog pan. Catch a little more gold, but don't have to deal with running stupid magnatite to factory.
Its more of a secondary money maker, and wont make u rich. But i think its worth the investment, it will pay itself off fairly quick and make u money over time.

Completely disagree with Tyler. It's a total waste of time and money. By the time you fill the trailer, and drive it to the factory, you could have earned more in gold than you get by selling the Mag.

Secondary income yes, worth it, absolutely not.

At T3, I don't even run pay through the separator. Straight to the wave table. The very first clean up at T3 I did with the mag separator, the next one with out it. There was no discernable difference between using the separator and not.

Mag trailer will hold two full buckets of mag. The mag under the seperator fills pretty damn slow so fill your trailer and bring any extra buckets of mag over to the factory on one of your trips into town, Sometime after weeks of sluicing and then sell it all you can pull over the drop off @ the factory and empty trailer refill it with any extra buckets of mag you have and get a couple grand each go its definetly worth it its a very passive way to make a little extra money with something theres no point in wasting when you can set it aside for a good while and one trip into town when you have to go anyway you can make extra cash!

And you can leave the mag trailer at the factory, nobody will steal it.

My 2 cents - it kind of surprises me when people are only interested in playing whichever way makes the digital bank account go up fastest. Yes, the game is about making money - but there is no risk and no challenge to making money in this sandbox game, so big deal. Heck, if we can all agree on which pieces of equipment and which mining approach makes money the fastest I suppose they may as well delete everything else from the game...

I'll use whatever equipment is included and consider the lower paying chores as just things that need to be done as part of this business of mining. We're all clamouring for more things to do in this game as it is.

I haven't quite reached Tier 2 yet, as I didn't want to take out a loan when I was short for the small excavator, so I'm shoveling buckets into the seperator then wave tabling it. I find that selling magnetite is making me more money than gold is. 36 buckets got me about 3.5 oz of gold and 2.5 trailers of magnetite. So, roughly $3.2k in gold after "taxes" and $7.5k in magnetite.

The seperator is for putting buckets of gold into, and that seperates it, if you just shovel dirt straight in there from the ground you are getting very little of the gold out of the dirt.
