Don't run when laying down cables and hoses, for some odd reason this shortens the max lenght you can get.
thats how i have done it. https://imgur.com/zshWwZn
to keep the water pressure high enough to wash the paydirt you need multiple pumps otherwise you would just drip drops of water on the paydirt
the lenght limit on the hoses is a feature meaning it's probably not going to be like in the demo because the demo was to showcase the concept of the game not to show you a finished game
You can already extend you water line, as shown in the ingame DigTube.
Filter - Hose - Pump - Hose - Pump - Hose - Machine
" wallyk426 " had mentioned he has only enough money for one pump, thats why I showed how far he could get with one pump. Mining that area earns you enoug to buy more pumps.
So there is no legitimation for the big bin full of water to be used.
water pressure on pumps has nothing to do with the length of the hose, only the difference in altitude and the diameter of the hose. in reality, you'd never want to couple up multiple pumps, not even because of pressure but because if one them breaks, the others essentialy blow it up.
Unless you're moving the mobile wash plant on to the pay dirt area of the starter claim, you only ever need one pump. When setting up the Tier 3 plant I got a single water hose from the creek connected to the washplant without a pump. Of coarse, I installed the pump to move the water, but the point is that one single hose can reach.
This also works for cables.
