Selling gold/making gold bars

Right do I have to make gold bars or is it automatic I have just under an oz. Also I never had the option of a tutorial only dig tube

You go to the blacksmith in town to get it turned into bars, you can sell him ore directly instead if you want but you do lose $ that way.

Also your tutorial is the Journal, not a traditional one. Hit tab to open your map, and click Journal at the top.

Sweet , thank you , bars before sell gold ore was my question to.
I sell gold bars to bank, it seems bank have my bar in back on my car registered so..

how much gold do you make into a bar on the first go,i have under an ounze

The largest one I made is a 999 oz bar, it's the size of a book, I made 57 of them. I tried using the wave table for the first time and saved up 10 barells of gold to try it out with and when I finished with all 10 barells putting them thru the wash table I ended up with over 54 Million in cash. After I sold half to the bank and half thru the smelter. I didn't type any cheats or anything. I was working really hard at earning every piece of equipment. I am starting my game over because I don't want the machines just handed to me like that. Will not use the wave table again till I watch chat for a bit and make sure it's not an ongoing issue. I don't want to have to play thru the whole start up again for the 3rd time :)

Ive made some smaller gold bars and found I get less money for the bars than the gold dust after expenses. What am I missing here..?

Iarsingem they made some changes recently. When you first start out it's more efficent to sell straight ore. But once you upgrade your blacksmith with Mag then you will want to smelt to bars then sell. The best way to figure it out is to save before hand and do both methods to see which will net you the most cash at the end.

i can tell you that with a max skilled blacksmith you loose 15% of the cash if you sell the ore instead of make & sell bars (all costs included).
On the other hand - with a Tier3 those 320oz bars (blacksmith max now) are a joke. As I get around 400oz per cleanout and 2 cleanouts per day.

And don't use your gamepad on the blacksmith interface! It won't work, they haven't fixed it yet.. It looks like it works, but you only get a small amount of gold in the bar you get no matter how much you have selected. But it still works if you use the mouse/keyboard to interact with the interface. Dunno why, that's a pretty odd sort of bug, but I've tested it several times, and it never works with the gamepad, and always works with the mouse... =)
