It's working pretty well for a lot of other games, care to explain?
1. It isnt, if you arent windows user.
2. Telemetry.

Okay...
1. Lot of major and minor bugs, nobody cares about. As result - on non-windows os'es, unity games are mostly unplayable.
2. Telemetry. When you launches any unity game, it "calls home" with a lot of info about you (from anonymous to personal). There is no way to turn it off

Also it uses heretic C#, but I dont think there is someone in this thread, who can understand, why it sux.

Again: I dont wanna start engine holywar. Only to get short answer from devs

unity not bad. but suck so hard...

Wow, can you be moe of a hipster? "i doubt anyone in this thread is sophisticated enough to understand how terrible unity engine is". and then you give some half baked answer about telemetry and it not working on your sad sad linux. so from what i gather it works just fine, since if you could you would point out any major flaws. what a hipster.

Okay, about bugs:
1. Missed resources. Example - "Holy Potatoes, A Weapon Shop". Game basically cant load resources on non-windows OSes, cuz of.
2. Missed/bugged gamepad. Example - "Dex". Game doesnt see gamepad or moves aim to top corner. Affects ever your favorite win 10.
3. Terrible perfomance. Example - every non-2D (and lot of 2D, again - dex is example) unity game. Cuz its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ engine, ever if you will spend years to optimisation. Cuz its C#, which sux for games. Cuz of ♥♥♥♥.
4. Telemetry. ALL unity games collects telemetry, ever if its not listed in game's EULA. Sause:
https://unity3d.com/legal/privacy-policy
Q: I play a game built with Unity software, what should I know?

A: Unity has probably collected some or all of the following information about your device: Unique device identifier generated from the device MAC/IMEI/MEID (which we immediately convert into a different number using a one way hash); IP address; Device manufacturer and model; the operating system and version running on your system or device; browser type; language; the make of the CPU, and number of CPUs present; the graphics card type and vendor name; graphics card driver name and version (example: "nv4disp.dll 6.10.93.71"); which graphics API is in use (example: "OpenGL 2.1" or "Direct3D 9.0c"); amount of system and video RAM present; current screen resolution; version of the Unity Player; version of the Unity Editor used to create the content; a number describing whether the player is running on Mac, Windows or other platforms; and a checksum of all the data that gets sent to verify that it did transmit correctly; application or bundle identification ("app id") of the game installed. Some Unity developers use Unity’s analytics and ad services which collect additional information.

And yeah, this thread is.

It is made with Unity, and as a Unity programmer, I would have to say I fricken love it!

Have they even talked about the game being supported on other OSs other than windows and Mac? Because if not it's kind of a moot point, isn't it? Yes Unity may have issues with other OSs but they plan to release the game on PC, Mac, XboxOne and PS4 so unless you're talking about one of those, again, moot point.

if it works, if the game is fun, if its not buggy, if its polished why do you care what engine makes it.
Vicarious Jun 30, 2016 @ 6:08am
Unity isn't the problem, it's the fact that it's the everyman engine. Higher number of developers = larger number of problematic titles.

Telemetry = Nearly every major title does this through similar mediums. Unity does this specifically to ensure that companies don't purchase a single professional license priced for a single hobbyist developer. Reason should be obvious.

I can't tell if you were kicked in the head by a large farm animal before you put these points together, but... whichever one of your friends told you C# was terrible.. go back and ask him to explain what he/she means.. so you won't look like an idiot next time.

Unity works fine. But a lot of people use it the wrong way. Some considerations have to be taken for cross platform play.

Na't details some of these here
