[VIVE] Lack of Rotation Controls / Options
I was unable to locate any options for rotating myself with the Vive controllers, forcing me to turn around on the spot in order to rotate. Turning around on the spot, multiple times over, makes me motion sick. VR is not required for me to get sick from this kind of rotation irl.

This as a result prompted me to leave a negative review, as I really, really hate how VR is heading with their preferred point teleport movement without rotation controls. I only referred it as stationary because I have no idea what you would actually call it for getting sick while not actually moving from your spot.

Information
- Windows 7
- i7 6700K
- GTX 980
- 16GB DDR4 RAM
- SDD
- Vive
- SteamVR (Non-Beta) (VR Firmware up to date) (No Room Space)

Hi hi,

Gotcha, so just rotating physically a bunch in RL isn't pleasant for you. That makes a bit more sense relative to your review (for a moment I thought you might be say... running at a low framerate or something).

A quick question or two: For your form of locomotion do you prefer for linear traveral?
- Instantaneous Teleport
- Dash (like teleport but you experience the movement to the point a bit)
- Smooth Locomotion (using a stick or touchpad to slide)

For the Vive, the control options are a little more limited for turning, due to the controllers having one fewer button per controller than the Rift/Index/WMR.

If you enjoy Smooth locomotion, I would set your Movement Mode to 'Single Joystick/Touchpad', and go into the Options Panel, go to Movement Options, then Smooth Locomotion Advanced Options.

Set 'Lateral Axis' to Snapturn. (this will replace strafing, though you can still 'strafe' by pointing the controller to the side, and pressing forward/backward on the touchpad, as the Default in H3 is that movement is relative to the controller. Note you will have to toggle on movement on the controller you want to use for movement, by pressing the menu button (a little arrow indicator spawns below the controller when this is active).

If you prefer teleport, there is a 'RoboRecall Teleport' style, that has you click forward on the touchpad, hold, then drag your thumb left/right around the touchpad to pick your new orientation. It's not the best at stationary reorientation though...

Honestly, you're the first person (in a decade of doing VR dev) that I've ever encountered saying they have discomfort simply physically turning a lot. I'd like to do what I can to accommodate you though.

I use Smooth Locomotion. The only VR game I know that does it fairly decently is VRChat, but that game doesn't have to juggle a lot of functionality with just two controllers. Plus that it's more geared to social activities than anything else.

Outside of that, the only other VR game I play is BeatSaber which is stationary.

Also, as an added note, I didn't experience any performance issues in the game, so it seemed to be running just fine.

Alrighty, then for smooth locomotion, you can either use the method I talked about above, or twin-stick.

For twinstick, the thing to be aware of is that you still need to 'toggle' the controllers in/out of locomotion mode (to be able to access weapon function). You can change the snap turn increment (default 45 degrees) to what you'd prefer, change your desired speed, as well as tweak how sprinting/jumping work.

If there's anything else I can help you with in regards to the game/controls/locomotion?
