Been stuck on this level for an hour, any solutions?

This is the one with the potato gun and no ammo? I believe there may be two solutions.
I'm trying to remember what I did, but I think I just climbed the ladder and didn't use the stuff on the table at all.
The other option, which I'm inferring based on someone else's comment, is to stack muzzle devices on the potato gun until it's long enough to reach.

yeah I did that but hitting the target with the barrel doesn't work

It seems I just got really lucky the first time I played - I grabbed the potato cannon and just jumped down from the wall to strike the target. Upon replaying, that's very difficult. I was successful attaching a few barrel extensions, fighting the cannon into my shoulder slot, climbing up onto the wall and striking the target firmly but carefully with the extended barrel.

It does work, get every barrel extension attached, step up to the red line, and use the weapon as a whacker. You need to hit it hard.

The hairspray is useless and is a red herring. You have to solve it without using it. The barrel extension are useful.
