Take and Hold 200 degree CPU temp spike
I was playing Take and Hold right? I got up to my 4th hold. Things started getting crazy and a lot was happening.
I was also recording with the Medal program at the time which I have set to encode via GPU.

I have a pretty high end PC which I know can handle a lot. I wasn't experiencing any stuttering. I only heard all 10 of my fans ramp up for a second. I got done playing and checked HWiNFO after, to check for temp spikes. Which I saw my core temp spiked to 199 degrees. https://imgur.com/a/YuMb3S2 <---- Link to screenshot

My question is how CPU intensive are the effects for the encryption nodes and similar effects.
This is the first time I've had a 200F temp spike playing anything.
I was already planning on increasing my cooling so either way this is all the more reason to.

For reference my PC specs are on my profile
Thanks for reading :er_heart:

The only thing that can cause your CPU to spike to that temp is hardware issues. Literally anything pushing that thread hard could do that. Fix your system before it melts bro.
Check if that is within the threshold of the cpu as mine can go up to 80 so either your cooling kit is not strong Enough for the i9 or they are not working or setup correctly also just checked the ceiling of that type of i9 It is 100c=212F so yea make sure you know the threshold temp for your stuff and you will notice it lasts a lot longer. Edit: yea it should be fine so i would just make sure the temp is within the safe range of the cpu and if your really concerned i would just get a better cooling kit i use water cooling it works wonders so that might be good for you but eh idk i still don't have my csit A+ certificate yet..............

Get a better heatsink
200F is only 92C and that is an acceptable temperature for a 13000 Intel chip. A 13900 has a Tjunction limit of 100c and then hard throttles when this is exceeded and won't be damaged unless any part of the chip exceeds 115c.

A thing to suggest, have you got your water cooler running at maximum RPM continually when doing demanding tasks? I have noticed that unless you do this the water cooler takes too long to spool up when you get instantaneous heat spikes and you get momentary high temperature readings I assume it is something to do with the small physical heat sink the water cooler has. I have seen other people reporting the same, and have seen it be recommended to set the cooler to max out its pump RPM (and your case fans while you're at it if you don't mind the noise) continously if you intend to do anything stressing.

is it? i checked online and it said otherwise but i don't use fahrenheit even tho im a yank............. i should but i don't.
Thanks to everyone who commented. I appreciate the input.
So turns out my AIO was dying.
Upgraded to an Arctic Liquid Freezer III today and my temps have been phenomenal. :auyay:
I'm sitting at about 110F-120F in H3 now. I've tested with other games and my overall performance has been better.
