How realistic are the guns to real life guns?
I live in the UK and don't get a chance to handle real guns. I was wondering if the guns are exact replicas of real guns with all the mechanics. Sorry if this has been asked before.

Everything is working just like in real life.
Some mechanics aren't implemented yet.
So everything is simulated except these things :

- Proper ballistics of the projectiles
- Field stripping firearms
- Realistic removal of magazines(right now they jump out of the gun instead of dropping)
- Recoil that you feel in your hands and shoulder
- Smell of the burned gun powder
- The M4 no longer simulates the need to properly pull back the chargin handle( please fix this)
- The forward assist on the M4 no longer has a function( please fix this )

So all in all if you learn to shoot any firearm in H3VR you will be able to shoot the gun in real life.

This is the App for people who like guns, but don't want to own a gun.

Yeah, for the average shooter at the range, this is pretty damn close to realistic. Might want to get someon to punch you in the shoulder after firing the shotguns to get a real life feel.

Mainly just lacks the weight and noise of the gun (Most guns are very loud compared to movies and video games)

I went to an indoor shooting range and fired a gun last weekend for the first time. I had been playing with the M4 in HHH.. I rented a Sig Sauer MPX 9mm Carbine and it operates the same way. The range officer thought I was familiar with the gun. I'd say it's pretty realistic :P

So it operates just like real life then.

I agree with your post except this.
Adding forward assist functonality would not only be a waste of development time, but actually instill bad habits into anyone who might be learning an AR platform rifle on this program.

So lets NOT make it functional, it should literally never be used unless absolutely necessary and you know what your doing, otherwise don't touch it.

You obviously didn't play H3VR when it still had the REALISTIC function that if you don't pull the chargin handle far enough the bolt didn't go completely forward and to chamber the round you needed hit the forward assist.

It actually was functional in a prior version. The issue is that the jamming system was _way_ too temperamental. Like the thing jammed like the charging handle spring tension was wrong. When I migrated the codebase the rifle uses, I chose not to re-implement that functionality because I was never happy with how it worked, and it was unreliably unreliable.
