Really now in this amazing Game
Hello all togehter. I am really new here, but i really like the Game so much.
I play only "sitting". That s not the Big problem, so just some Missions are not really to play for me, but this is not the Point.

I did look around a lot the last Days, and it s amazing. But: one Question:
Is there really NO SCEET shooting inside? THere is so much Content, but i did not found a Sceet shooting.

or did i just overwatch it ?

In the Friendly 45 Range there is a skeet table with control panel.

there is also a range in the sampler platter that has a smilar thing where you can launch giant watermelons at varying speeds

There's a "things" launcher for getting clays, flower pots and pumpkins airborne, but the throw direction is always the same.
Biggest drawback: It's limited to 5 throws - so if you wish to abuse that launcher for skeet-like shooting, it just stops launching when you reach the point you wish to shoot from.
I keep on molesting Anton for having him add an infitity setting - but to no avail. :D

Yeah, i have an Awnser from Anton. So that you understand this:
i can understand:

A Sceet Shooting, if you want to do an accorate Emulation of, needs big guns. This means you need big "Shootgun Ammo" for. A Shootgun in this case, have up to 500 Bullets in 1 Shoot.

Thats the Point. So if you want to do an accoracy Simulation of a Skeet Shooting (and Anton is very exact with his guns) than you need to simulate each singel Bullet, joining out of the Tube. That means to: each of this bullets, need to have a Rigidbody ( i dont know if Anton works in Unity, i think so. Because: i am a Dev myself, i know the Rules of Unity very good) and that means: you need to physically calculate, every Rigidbody in the Scene.

If you do 2 Shoots, you have 1000 Rigidbodys, just in the Bullets, leaving the Tube.
Think about... that is a really huge Amount.

Lets say you try a better firing gun, like a magacine one. Than you will have more Rigidbodys, lets say you fire ~ 8 complete Loads, in 10 Sekundes. That doing 4000 Rigidbodys, on her Way to the Skeet.

i think, he is right. To do this accoratly is a thing nearly not to go. i think there is a good example video, how much rigidbodys can unity handle. if i remember right, was 500 000 or something. But than was - end of the line - so if you think about, that we are in VR, and not in a typically game, you need to calculate all other rigidbodys to.

Every bullet = rigidbody
every gun = rigidbody
evere object in place, = rigidbody
Some splittable Objects i think, will have more than just 1 rigidbody.

in this Case, i understand that Anton do not a perfect simulation.

Maybe: we can try to talk with him about the Spawner, to have more Throws.
but an accorate Simulation, i think this is not really to do. Maybe for fun, like other Games doing, but i think, the Goal of Anton is not to have Weapons that are not perfect.

... and in this case, this is a big problem.

Biggest practical problem is the launcher restricted to 5 throws.
But I'd love to see a real skeet and real trap range in H3VR. It's not too difficult to create (I am also a former software developer, also in the gaming industry) - but a) I guess there's not much players interested in that, and b) Anton is quite anal with his simulations. :D

I never worked with Unity, but maybe this could do the trick: Do not use Rigidbodies for each shot. Use THREE single Rigidbodies only, a disk concentrically surrounded by two rings, forming a closed disk.
Just imagine the three center rings of a paper target, the big "10" (bulls eye) disk in the center, two rings surrounding it.
That rings (and the resulting disk) expand with the distance from the muzzle, so the size increases from bore size to rougly 1 m in diameter at a distance of 40 m, simulating the coverage of the single lead shots.
Everything colliding with the center disk is a direct hit, everything colliding with the inner ring is a 75 % hit chance, 25 to 50 % hit chance if collision occurs with the outer ring.
That should simulate a real-world shot coverage using just three Rigidbodies pretty well, saving resources and processing power big time.

Maybe, i do not see the Problem in the Skeet, i see it in the Bullet. I think Anton to.

But: in one Case you are absolutly right: it cant be to complicatet, to give more Throws. This should just be enugh so far. 5 is really a little less. :)

the other Things i did not try, i can not really good walk, or stand, so i play sitting. There is "Meat Grinder" or something just to much for me. I am most interested in just "targets" i do not need Action game Systems :)

there can be really more. Just for Example: the Bottles on the Range. Can be a little "Counter" or a "Time Challange" to hit some with Western colds or or or.

This is i miss a little. :) There is a lot of space to do things better - but - there is also a really huge amount of great things inside :)

Sure a thing, a trap or skeet simulation is not THAT difficult to make.
But it will never be anything like the real thing as long as you need to use controllers. Only a Vive Tracker at the muzzle of a real gun (like Clazer does it) makes it feel somehow realistic.
But that option is only suitable for a very small number of players, me included.
I would pay hundreds of dollars for a real great trap and skeet simulation allowing me to use my own gun with a tracker at the muzzle. But unfortunately, most other players won't. ;)

The common problem with skeet and trap is calculating direct and peripheral hits of the clay.
In real life, there's just a cloud of orange dust if you hit the clay with the center of that "cloud of shots". If you hit with a more peripheral part of the shots, the clays will just break or a part chips off - also regarded as a regular hit.
For clay shooting, you use shell numbers 7 or 9, each cartridge holding about 300 to 550 lead pellets. Too many for calculating each path of flight.
That's where the idea of replacing single pellets (Rigidbodies) with a combination of a center disk and two concentrical rings for determining hit or miss comes into play, with the disk-ring-combination expanding with the distance from the muzzle.

If you're interested in target shooting while not moving too much, there's quite some offers in H3VR. Friendly 45 range, Arcade proto, M.E.A.T.S.

Yeah, i need to have a look around on all.
i was also in the Warehouse Range, there some Discs to shoot, looking amazing. Was hard to understand how the Board to the Setup works, but now is okay.

But there a lot of Stages i do not understand, like the "Christmas Stage", i have no clue what i can do there. all what is "holding" i cant play, because: i just have a knife, will not work, i always be shoot down, and loot i cant collect, because i am sitting ( no way to go down to the floor for ).

also the problem is: i can not use any Belt, just the 2 Places left and right at the Head.

but this is not so much important, most important: i can shoot :D
and this is fun. I think about to buy a Gunstick, hm, but all is jsut expensive for such a small hobby. i dont know if i driving good with. Also here in Germany, you will get nothing, you can only order from UK or China or Russia. Great. :(

There's an action to pick up things remotely.
In Classic controls hold the thumbstick in (B or Y in Streamlined) with your empty hand and a beam will project from your controller. It'll change color when it's over an object you can grab, which you can do by holding the grip button.
