Short Answer: No, you can't really, so just count your shots and be methodical with your revolvers
Long Answer: Revolver design doesn't allow for it (I'm sure a gunsmith can tell you more as to the why)
As SCPF03 suggests, revolvers with a loading gate would allow you to punch out fired brass, if you were keeping track of which cylinders had empties in them.
I'm already aware the old revolvers have the loading gate. I think it might be a simple thing to add by just having small interaction spheres on the bullets so you can pull out the empty bullets. It bugs me that if I fire one or two rounds and want to top up I have to empty all the bullets on the floor.
It seems like a simple enough thing, but remember that you're talking about 5-8 very small interaction points in extreme proximity. Even if it were added, would it even be reliable? Especially when you're talking about a game where most modes feature unlimited ammo, there's frequently little advantage to this.
Even on limited ammo T&H runs, it's trivial to carry enough rounds for that not to be a bother.
If it really bothers you to drop (free, unlimitedly spawnable) rounds on the floor, you could always make sure you fire them all, switching to a different weapon when needed, and reload in the downtime between waves.
Was also thinking of something like that.
