"Game doesn't launch" isn't enough information to help you.
I've been having the same problem starting today. The only thing I've done different is update my nividia drivers. Up until now the game has run flawlessly, but today when I start the game (either in Steam's vr home or through the oculus linked menu) it starts and then immediately crashes. It doesn't give an error, it just closes. I can't think of anything else I've possibly done besides the gpu update. I'm using the quest 2 with the cable, so it should function as a standard oculus headset.
Update: I get a 'instruction at [some numbers] refernced memory of [some more numbers]. The memory could not be read. Click on OK to terminate the program" error.
The only other game I've installed is Ragnarock, another vr game. I've tried verifying the files as well for h3vr, but it says all the files are as they should be. I'll attempt to totally turn my PC off and back on in case something's caught up on the Oculus' end.
Update: Uninstalling and reinstalling the game didn't do the trick, neither did a full PC restart. It might be related to the windows 10 or steam update? The only other thing I can think of that's different one day to the next.
Another update: I'm noticing when I start the game my cpu usage goes absolutely bonkers and the game opens as 'not responding'. I'm not sure what's up but it seems like it's Steam itself that's freaking out and gobbling up my cpu, I know steam updated so maybe for some reason it's using more of the cpu up?
So I've tried restarting my computer fresh, system clean ups (registries and the like) and can't seem to figure anything out that's different besides the windows update between then and now. I haven't gotten the memory error again, but what consistently happens is the game starts, hangs up (the three 'waiting for' lines in steam vr) and then it boots me back to steam's vr home.
All I can think of is that something seems to be maxing out my cpu potentially, but that's not happening with any other VR games and it hasn't been an issue before.
Hopefully this info can possibly help shed some light on whatever's going on!
Edit: After the game crashes, there's still an h3vr thing running in my task manager, with some SteamVR Webhelper's running inside it. These don't stop when the game crashes and Steam says the game is no longer running, but they're still in the task manager doing something at super low cpu usage. If I try to run the game again, steam displays (Waiting for game to exit)
