It's one of the more fleshed out game modes, and if you're brand new to the game, it's going to heavily punish you for not knowing how to use things.
After you get thoroughly spanked, head over to the Sampler Platter, play around with the different items and get an idea for how to use the controls with the help of the big tutorial screens. Once you're feeling more comfortable moving around and shooting and such, that's when you go for completing TnH runs. It takes a lot of getting murked to learn how to position yourself and shoot sosigs without thinking about it.
After about ~300 hours you'll be ready for the real gamemode;
Grenade Boomski.
Rotweiners is fun for a more RPG experience with zombies.
Capocolloseum is also fun for some skirmishes.
Never tried Meat Grinder for the horror experience.
And yes, Grenade Boomski is the final boss.
But of course you are on your own there; mod talk is not for these forums. With regular updates, things tend to get borked.
Are you talking about the open snowy "Dakota" map? Or something else?
This map seemed nice at the first glance. However, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I sometimes have to "walk" for more than 5 minutes to the next POI without any interaction during the travel time. Seems the locations are way to far apart and not really enjoyable for me.
But maybe it's just me and I'm just doing something wrong lol.
Do yourself a favor and install some of the community maps, which can be found at h3vr.thunderstore.io.
Costa con Carne and Hotel Hotlink are both really good.
Edit: Get r2modman for mod management. Makes installation and keeping stuff up-to-date much easier.
Tried to use the grappling hook but somehow this was even slower than walking for me lol but maybe there is some hidden mechanic how to use that correctly?
I'm not using teleport normally but would be a possible solution, thanks!
Thanks a lot, that sounds very promising :D
Which mods would you recommend besides some new maps for TnH?
