And the preamble to that sentence is “This isn’t set in stone..."

Anton said it will come out of alpha when he feels the game is done and doesn't plan on anymore regular updates as doing the regular update schedule is much, much easier in early access. So essential when the game is finished and the last major update is out is when it will be out of EA, at which point anton will move on to another project. Also it's not really in alpha. When you hear of an alpha cycle, that's just saying that there is a test build for the next major update on the steam beta page.

Honestly, this just isn't that kind of game, at least not right now.
It's more of a toybox, and they just keep throwing new things into it.
From my perspective, it feels like something in a state of perpetual development rather than "building to a defined final product".
It's also already worth more than the purchase price.
"It never goes on sale? No, it's always on sale."

nobody cares anyway...

game get new stuff added pretty much every weeks... why would we even care if he goes out of alpha one day XD

the storepage will be updated when update 100 rolls out

Alpha just means we get more content, not such a bad thing. Game is worth the price as is

I don't remember what I paid, I just know I got my money's worth. To the point I ended up buying a copy as a gift for someone who was in to guns and just got a VR setup, but they never really got into it. Oh well their loss.

But yea def worth the asking price for the amount of time it's been supported. At some point I'm sure Anton will eventually button it up and call it a day, to move on to a different project or something else. Games don't get support in perpetuity and this one is already running longer than most anyone would expect.
If being in Alpha means more regular updates then F yes.

Though I am curious as to what even this game would look like when 'finished'

Come on bro, this game is already worth more than most VR games on steam and has more polish for sure. I kinda hope its gonna be alpha for like forever. Damn, i have it since one year and the content that has gone into this is more than AAA titles.
Well worth the money.

The game is not an Alpha, it is an early access. It will leave early access when Anton releases what he deems as the last early access update, which is not set in stone and will more then likely be when he eventually tires out of developing H3VR. The game does not follow an arbitrary Alpha, Beta, Release cycle.

Garry's mod in VR pretty much. with lots of guns. Eventually new games mods and so on.

for the rest, i guess once it will be fisnihed, the modding community will dismantle it and find a way to add maps, guns, custom enemies models and so on... i mean, i m sure some people find a way to do that one day. And maybe even implant multiplayers by themself with custom servers or whatever.

i mean, a game is a game heh. an i know some people who can modify unity games and such. like the line say "when you want, you can"

not that i will complain, it may help the game to live even longuer after the devs kind of drop it for another project.

There is already custom maps (Take and hold), custom guns and attachments (very detailed, especially the modular ones) and other goodies like custom TnH characters
Mods are a thing and you shoold look at the H3VR section on thunderstore

Alot of that has already been done. The only thing that even the molders haven't had much success with is multiplayer. There was a multiplayer mod in development before that got abandoned picked up again then abandoned again. There's now a $600+ bounty up for grabs on the mod discord and it's been there for almost a year unclaimed. There is someone whos looking into hiring professionals to make it but it's years of development away.
