@Soldat (For the millionth time) The MG42 never had a largest magazine. It only ever fired 50 round belts. Any game representing it with more is doing so inaccurately. Yes I have actually fired the real thing. The MG34 is the one with a higher ammo capacity.
Also on a side note, MG-42's that were deployed with the Tri-pod [Lafayette variant I believe] had 250 round can's but these were operated with 3 man crews. Gunner, Spotter, Loader. Generally the cans were filled with multiple 50 round belts that were linked together.
Normal infantry armed with a MG-42 only had the 50 round belt, but dedicated MG Teams had the 250 round can's. [Same ones used with MG-34's if they were mounted on Tri-pods]
Also, just in case you were thinking of asking, loose belts aren't an option as the physics calculations for a belt that long would cripple even the most powerful CPU. This is why all the belt fed guns in H3VR feed from attachable cans with only 5-10 rounds of the belt showing.
