Looking down sights is an excercise in blurry bull
Let me get this clear, I love this game. I have played it since crim cram, yet no matter how much I adjust my cornea-distance-♥♥♥♥ and did the shifty ring thing on the side. This has only allowed me to get a very passable level of sight visibility. With handguns I go into "Grandma mode" wherin I place the gun right up to my face and curl over like an idiot. With long guns I kind of have to do the same thing, but its more awkard and isn't as good. But yeah, any tips on how to un-♥♥♥♥ my headset? Thanks

Part of it is unavoidable, and is just that the irons are _right_ at the panel rez limit. I know a lot of folk wanting to shoot on irons end up lowering their quality setting in game to medium and running the game at 1.2-1.6 super sampling.

In terms of getting a clear image in your HMD though, are you positive you're wearing it high enough on your face? For like the first month I used the vive I was wearing it too low, and fixing it was experience-changing.

Hm, thats a good point in terms of the headset. I know that your skull may be different, but where do you wear the vive on your head? For me, the bottom rests right on top of my cheekbones.

P.S. wow your game is amazing, thank you so much for the quick repsonse

Gotcha, if its on your cheeks its correct. Hmmm.

1. Have you tried one of the VR covers (the alternate foam). They're thinner, so the headset ends up being closer to your eyes.

2. Are you sure your IPD is set correctly and your lenses are clean?

I had the exact same issue in H3VR. Cleaning the lenses and adjusting the IPD helped a LOT, and bumping up the supersampling (mine is currently at 2.2) removed most of the blurriness as well.
Also, try switching the sight to your other shoulder/other eye, see if it's the same or better or worse looking down the sight using your other eye. Apparently for the longest time I had the right side of my HMD set too far down, while the left side was perfect, so the focus point of the lense wasn't actually straight ahead for my right eye. So now I know that my face isn't symmetrical, and it bugs the everloving ♥♥♥♥ out of me now when I look at the mirror because I can actually SEE that my right eye is lower than my left. Thanks H3VR! :(

Hello there

I find the weapons with glow spots are just fine to shoot with.

I wish it was an option to add them to all Iron sights on all weapons, realistic or not.

(I expect this to be done by the end of the day, anton. :) )

Ok guys there is one simple thing that will make shooting with iron sights at longer distances possible :
Change the visual settings in the settings panel to Medium !
This will remove lots of blur !

Additionally setup your optics and the IPD perfectly and you should be able to see very clearly !

If you have the Rift instead of VIVE the view is even much more clearer because of the optics that are used in the Rift HMD.

Just a suggestion, but HMDs are the least blurred right in the center, and it's unnatural to aim guns that way, when you aim down sights irl, you tend to tilt your head down a bit and look upwards with your eyes through the sights, but unfortunately by doing that in VR, you end up trying to look through the iron sight in the top portion of the lens, could this be the issue? Have you tried shooting one handed and just have your head fixed and move your gun around to see if you could find an optimal position which may not be natural for a shooting a real gun?

I found the biggest increase in clarity for me was the optimizations I did to reduce Vive's jitter. Using USB 2.0 vs 3.0, hard-mounting the base stations instead of on stands, and the next move I'm going to take is reducing my play area which will bring the base stations closer together; Should reduce jitter further.
