150 Wishlists in Week One! 🖤 Let’s hit 300!

Hey everyone! I’m floored 🥹 We hit 150 wishlists in our very first week! Honestly thank you all for making this milestone. My goal is to deliver a tight, "cozy but cursed" mini-metroidvania, and your support tells me we’re on the right track!

Can we get to 300?

For those just joining the retro adventure: The Legend of Chalkvania is a darkly playful, 1-bit style action-adventure where you’ll explore a cursed world, battle questionable monsters, and slowly realize you probably should’ve woken up earlier.

What to expect in this cursed world:

Classic Metroidvania Progression: Explore a non-linear, interconnected world where new abilities and items unlock previously unreachable areas.
Crisp 2D Platforming: Fast-paced exploration and tight controls inspired by retro 1-bit classics.
RPG-Lite Systems: Customize your run with gear, core stats, and plenty of "questionable" decisions.
Atmospheric World-Building: Meet strange characters (some alive, some… less so) in a handcrafted world full of secrets and shortcuts.

I’m building something tight and intentional. No bloat, no filler, just a solid side-scrolling adventure that respects your time.

Trailer Rework: Thanks for the Feedback!

Hey everyone!

I’ve just reworked the trailer for The Legend of Chalkvania based on your feedback, thank you to everyone who took the time to comment and share thoughts 🙏

The main focus this time was:

Tighter pacing
Clearer gameplay moments
Better flow with the music

I’ve removed most of the on-screen text and focused on letting the gameplay speak for itself.

Still lots to improve, but this feels like a big step forward.

Hello adventurers!

The Steam page for **The Legend of Chalkvania** is finally live.

Chalkvania is a quirky retro action-adventure inspired by classic Game Boy era games. Explore the mysterious Chalk Lands, battle strange monsters, collect odd treasures, and uncover the secrets of a world that’s slightly… off.

You play as the somewhat reluctant Guardian of Castle Grayscale. Your job is simple: protect the land, deal with monsters, and try not to accidentally make things worse.

You can play fast and fight your way through enemies, or slow down and explore the world, talk to strange characters, and uncover hidden secrets.

This is just the beginning! I'll be sharing development updates, new enemies, locations, and gameplay as the project continues.
