[FIXED] Black Screen
The game simply displays a black screen on load. After reading multiples issues of these, here is what i did so far:

I have:
- An oculus rift with oculus touch controlers
- The oculus app running in the background
- Steam VR running in the background
- Set up a room layout (2x1.5 meters) in steam vr
- No corrupted safe file (since the game never started)
- I meet the minimal hardware recommendation of the store page

i also have the latest drivers, a compatable pc, etc (since every other VR game i played so far works without any trouble)

What else is there to setup? I already hate that the game only displays a black screen instead of saying "you need steam vr in the background" or "you have to have a room setup for this" or literally anything but the universal sign for "something is broken, please fix me"

Sorry to hear that you are expierencing this issue. What type of graphics card / processor do you have? Also are you able to play other Steam VR games with your headset?
Yiasmat Dec 31, 2018 @ 11:09am
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060
Processor: i7-7700k CPU @4.20GHz

I was able to run all other vr titles i've played so far (both oculus store only and steam vr). These include:
- Beat Saber
- Superhot VR
- Windlands
- In Death
- The Wizards

Edit: Also, i don't know if this is supposed to be like this, so i thought i'd share.
To be completely safe, i tried to delete my safe file. That safe file does not exist however (since the game never started). Although there is not even a folder called "LocalLow". Maybe that's supposed to be created on startup, or maybe something went wrong during the download. Uninstalling an re-downloading changed nothing though.

I retrackt my previous edit. Apparently i was too stupid to show hidden folders :D

If you're still expierencing issues with the game after deleting your save can you reach out to owlchemysupport [at] google [dot] com via email? We'll probably be asking for your log file and a dxdiag from your pc.

Actually there is no save to delete.
The Owlchemy folder in my AppData/LocalLow/JobSimulator only has a "Unity" folder, no "User" folder.
I will contact the support.

Checking in on this-- did you resolve this issue with support? If so, let us know, and what the solution was so we (and others browsing the forums) can know what fixed it!

If you're still seeing the issue, we recommend running through Room-Scale Setup in both SteamVR AND Oculus Home (Guardian setup) to see if that helps. If you're running an Oculus Rift through SteamVR, the game requires you have room-scale set up on both apps.

Thats what the support told me to try next too.
However i am currently not at home so i have no way to try. Once i tested if that helps i will both respond to the support and keep you updated here.
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I am finally back home. Setting up the oculus guardian system fixed the issue.

How is it that I have 100+ hours in jobbing and never had a room-scale set up? Moderate at best, but I had no issues a month ago.
