BATTLEYE MAKING YOUR GAME/PC CRASH EVERYTIME YOU PLAY A SERVER?
I was recently running into a big problem everytime I tried to play on any Day of Infamy server (it seems a lot of us are experiencing the same thing). Everytime I booted in, the game would only run for about a minute or 2 before blackscreening everytime. I made a post that got me a link to an older discussion and after effing around between the discussions and my files I finally figured it out, I'm making this easy tutorial to help anyone experiencing this same or similar issue so they don't have to dig through older threads.

~First, you're gonna wanna have BattlEye already installed with the game: Start the game and let BattlEye setup before quitting.
~Next download DeltaMike's BattlEye Patch here: https://www.thearmorymod.com/downloads/BattlEye-Fix-Win11.zip and stick it somewhere.
~Extract it and throw it in your Common\Day of Infamy folder (This file is made for Insurgency, but it will work for DOI as well), either replace the OG BattlEye Folder or just delete it and throw Mike's file in it's place. DO NOT UNINSTALL BATTLEYE AND THROW MIKE'S FOLDER IN, THE OG BE HAS TO BE INSTALLED FOR IT TO WORK.
~Lastly, select your dayofinfamy_x64 file and rename it to insurgency_x64.
~This should work with the Steam app icon, so you don't have to open the file folder everytime you wanna play(Edit: I think you still have to open file folder and launch BE I have to test it cuz it didn't work again). This also works on Windows 10 but I don't have any other OS' so good luck everyone else.

That is how I figured out how to play on Day of Infamy's servers as of early January 2025. Through the course of over 7+ hrs of scouring Steam Discussion pages like Alice going down the rabbit hole. I make this because not even Google told me anything regarding wat I was trying to find and NWI's Support pages are out of commission. I thought I wouldn't be able to play it anymore but thanks to this community I managed to figure it out. I wanna declutter the archives to give one piece of concrete instruction that I hope will be pinned up so anyone having this issue will hopefully be able to find it in a Search Bar or easily find this discussion page and won't have to waste their time with delving into pandora's interweb trying to find a solution.

Credit to DeltaMike for having this dedicated file, if it wasn't for his contribution on an older post on Rafai's discussion just before (or after ICR) Xmas I would've never thought I'd be able to play this again, or at the very least it would've probably took far longer to find an answer.
Also I'm not good at diagnosis I'm just a former file modder, if this doesn't help your problem I'm sorry but this is end of the line as far as my assistance goes and I pray you can get 'er fixed eh bud.
See you in Foy comrades
~Wardog

Edit: I'm still getting crashes but I'll see if x64 still works.
It doesn ;( -_-_-_- Idk wat hapun it worked before without any hitches but it's left for mixed results now....... F0CK
Edidit: This game fried my old GPU and I haven't touched this since I started the thread. I hope the rest of the community got it working cuz it used to run for me, but I'm not fighting an old game when I can just play RO2 or HLL. I liked this for the coop fun but Saber just wants it to die so *Defeated Shrug*

Can someone confirm if this worked with windows 11? I thought the latest Windows 11 update not being compatible with BattleEye caused this issue. (Blue Screen of Death when launching Day of Infamy with Day of Infamy's older version of BattleEye conflicting with windows + kernals etc)

I'm not sure personally cuz I run 10 still but I see the link is for 11 so I'm going off of DeltaMike's Offical Webpage. He seems like a legitimate nice dood and that's his steam name if you wanna ask him. I just got it working and I'm just glad, this really pissed me off like a lot of the gamers so I thot I'd help contribute. Thank you though, I was tryin to mcguiver Rafai's Post an it was honestly a conjumbled mess

I'm gonna try this on windows 11 and let you guys know
I find that if you roll back the new windows 24h whatever the ♥♥♥♥ update in settings your game works
The patch allowed me to run the game without BE, but when I try to join a server it says BE is required and boots me. So I'm not getting the blue screen of death, the game loads, but I can't actually play.

Any way to contact DeltaMike for another patch update. I'm happy to donate! (I've got 6000+ hours in DOI and it's like 25% of my social life lol)

I get the same message though Adam, I just reboot the game or turn my PC on and off. It works eventually.

Just tried the solution, but didnt work. When I launched the game before the patch my pc would already reboots itself. Now with the patch and changing x64-name I see the message loading BattleEye, Loading Day of Infamy, but nothing happens. And the pc more or less freezes then. I cant stop the game through Steam, cant acces Task Manager, all desktop icons wont work. I can press start with the mouse button but clicking on shutdown/reboot doesnt do anything. Only option I had was to force the pc to shutdown by holding the power button.

Any ideas? Would love to play the game again.

I don't think it's possible at all to play with BattlEye enabled, as what's crashing is the driver being loaded by BEService_x64.exe. That driver causes the crashes and freezes.

What you can do however is to go in the game files and launch dayofinfamy.exe or dayofinfamy_x64.exe to get the 32/64-bit version of the game WITHOUT BattlEye. This of course means you can't join BE enabled servers. It's also possible to replace dayofinfamy_BE.exe with either of those files to be able to launch the game through Steam's play button again.

You can use the server browser and select as filter tags to not include 'battleye' - this will show you all the servers that don't require it.
In the official categories that's just the servers SHOUBI and I run; so XLife and the Kim Jong-Un servers. We do have regular events on my servers on most days of the weekend. You can join our Revival community if you want to join them: https://discord.gg/N7n2rgCr9n

Any other server would need their owners to disable BattlEye. This is normally not possible on official servers that have progression, but I've made a modification to the server binary that disables the enforcement of CVARs from the playlist, you can find it here for Linux servers. https://github.com/ChrisTX/doi-config/raw/refs/heads/main/server-patch/server_srv.so
If there's interest, I could make the same patch for the dedicated Windows server, but it'd be a little work.

Either way, if you know a server owner of a DOI server, please ask them to turn off BattlEye. Windows 10 goes end of life in October, and Windows 11 23H2 in November, so this November already, all Windows versions still receiving updates will not be able to run the BattlEye version.

So, there's no more DOI access after November????

By replacing that .exe file, you can still play but only on servers without BattlEye. I'm on 24H2 and have no problems playing like that.
