Spanish translation project
So far, i've gone through NG+ and i love the game to bits, and being an amateur translator gives me the urge to do a translation into spanish.

The game deserves it, and i personally see it as a challenge because of vocabulary and termonology. It will take time, but it will be done. All kind of support appreciated.

I dont speak spanish though i can read a fair but of it and this thread is old but isnt Sukeban Games two Spanish speaking Venezuelan dudes?

Are you sure there isnt a spanish translation. In fact are you sure this game wasnt originally written in Spanish?

Pues es probable que lo hayan escrito en español y luego todo el juego lo hayan transladado al ingles, y no hay una version en español de momento

The game creators said that they wanted to use english cause it was more easy to use certain jokes and expressions. Fortunately they allowed this team to do it by themselves and now we are waiting for it :)

If it was written in spanish why wouldn't they release a version of it?

I suppose. I can remember a few things that would land in English but probably not in a romantic language. But surely a few of those jokes arent enough to not have a translation.

I mean I get it. Its basically an English speaking Japanophile game which is distinct from the Latin American counterpart's type.

Actually, the script was in english from the start, they explained their reasoning on launching the game in english in this tweet.

It is not uncommon for games to be written in English instead of the native languages of the authors.
Although it is rare that they are not interested in translating it later into their own language.

They probably considered that the possible Hispanic sales did not compensate the effort. It's a shame but for niche games there are usually very few sales in minority languages such as Spanish. Sometimes there are never even translations of fans (I've been waiting years for someone to translate Sunless Sea T-T)

Wtf you said, it's the second behind chinese, but the english market in videogames is more big.

no, in native speakers its the second, but with more speakers its the 3-4th , well i just found that dont really care at all, just was waying its not a "minority" language

The largest markets for Video Games are America (20.5 Billion) followed shortly by China(17.9 B) The types of games being played are completely different however. In China Gatcha phone games are king, whereas the more classical video game market in America is stronger. In third is Japan at (12.2)/ The next few combined barely equal Japan let alone China or America. Germany 3.43 B) and it falls from there.

So when regarding video games its actually not surprising to me that a game Written in English, with a Japanese Aesthetic and with a marginally representational version of Hong Kong filled with people and names that run the gamut from American to Japanese would do reasonably well. Its almost like this game was made in a lab lol.
