Every drink fails

Just started playing, going through the tutorial drinks at the beginning. Cannot make either the Piano Man or Sugar Rush. I will preempt the obvious questions... No, I am not missing the ice on the Piano Man. Yes, I have tried the optional ingredient on the Sugar Rush and of varying amounts. I do not believe I have missed any steps tutorial-wise. And yes I also searched before I posted. I came across one other thread complaining of this issue but it contains only one bad reply. Since the game will undoubtedly be getting some love due to the mass of HB players, has anyone else come across this and is there anything I can do about it?

You have to stop mixing at one point. When the drink starts shaking faster, it's not "mixing" any longer but "blending". So, your problem is probably that you wait too long and blend instead of mix.

At first I had the same issue as you but, that's only because I'm too dumb or something.
Anyway

• If the drink said 'mixed' you put in your, let's say Sugar Rush ingredient then you can just double click it, BAM you get your Sugar Rush. It doesn't matter how long you mix just not mix it for too long ( > 5 second).
  
• If it said 'Blended' you shake it until it start shaking faster then you are good to go.

Most likely you are simply doing it wrong. Mixing a drink requires it to shake less than 5 seconds, effectly you can click the drink to mix then click it immediately after to stop mixing.

I appreciate the tip on the blending issue. I figuered that a blender would pop up at a later time during the game
