Outside references/parodies

In this sort of game, i expected the odd parady of real things, but not outright references.
The one that got my attention was an item from the store called the "Joker Cyclone" - it's a reference to a power-ranger-like tokusatsu show called "Kamen Rider W" where the main characters use a form called "Cyclone Joker"

There are tons more most liekly and I'd love to see if we can compile a list.

Main game's dogs are parodies of metal gear solid Peace walker's naked snake(big boss) and kaz.

It's been a while since I last played but I remember there being lots of references to wrestling (both New Japan Pro Wrestling and WWE). I remember lots of stuff about a wrestling tournament that seemed like it may have been a reference to NJPW's G1 Climax tournament. There's also the random references to The Rock's "It doesn't matter what your name is!" taunt. Also "Water Pro-Wrestling G" is a reference to Fire Pro Wrestling G.

One I found is the TV in the background circles through to a channel that's an ad or something and has a guy going "I'd buy that for a dollar!" which is a commercial from the original RoboCop when he stops a guy robbing a gas station

Also the "hidden" scene at the end of Anna's end game interaction refers to The Silver Case, with the text bubble and shining squre around talking character constructed in that way.

!!!!!!! I totally forgot that. Loved that anime once upon a time (back when I still watched anime). Frontier has the best anime music I know of (although that basically means nothing). Thanks for reminding me to revisit that

It's not really a reference, they are set in the same universe and the devs have extensive collaboration. It's like calling Akuma in Tekken7 a street fighter reference, when he's clearly more than that.

I'm a big fan of the main You Don't Know Jack Series, so when i saw it in the stock avatars, i thought "might as well" Was meaning to change it soon.

You're right about the community, you wouldn't believe some of the fanart for this game. This thread has gotten more attention than i expected too, so it's great there are folks searching just like me

I don't actually play Jackbox games, I just heard good things about it (mostly from Totalbiscuit). Finding friends is hard

I instinctively avoid any fanarts, they tend to take too much liberty with the source material than I'm comfortable with (you know what I mean).

Theres a huge back catalog of YDKJ on steam not just the jackbox packs, and anyway each jackbox pack comes with a single player-able game in it (YDKJ 2015, Bomb corp, Trivia Murder Party).
