How to create a custom logo
So, as many people know, transport fever allows the player to have a custom logo but for the life of me I can't seem to figure out how to create/add my own. If anyone can help, it would be much appreciated. Thanks

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Transport Fever\res\textures\logo
For those interested in new logos and don't have the patient to create an image without any frames that makes no sense:

Great minds realy do think alike, I've been woundering the same thing, Have you tried adding a jpeg picture or drawing to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Transport Fever\res\textures\logo and see if that works? Would realy be cool if it does work. maybe the Dev's will add more then whats currently available with a DIY option in a future update.

I just wish they would have included a proper template. Not that it was a huge deal to make one out of one of the logos, but it would be nice to know the exact boundaries.

Here is one I whipped up for myself on one of my trains, but it still needs some work. I want to make the text thicker, and maybe try adding the yellow highlight back in so that it's easier to read and see if it works with thicker letters, else make all the text yellow to match the lettering on the logo.

It was fun to make. Graphic design isn't really a skill I have. I did that in GIMP by googling how to do just about everything.

I could make out the Railways in Red but couldn't tell what was in blue above it on the coal box.
The H&R with the maple leaf on the stack was clear however, did you do that also?
What kind of Softwere did you use if any? I used the color changer in the game and painted the sam box cars all difrent colors and even had one pulling 3 sets that were red white and blue. That one was hard to miss.LOL! I wish I had the know how to change the skins on anything in game.

The initial logo's tend to be three colour ones (originally in logotype design keeping the colours to around three was practical due to the cost of printing), I wouldn't suggest going more than four colours or you'll get more clashes with trains paint colour.

I also noticed that some of the written logotype is outlined in black, that can be handy to reduce chances of the writing clashing with the paint colour too, black (or grey scale) acts neutral in this instance.

Yeah, the flag and lettering are all part of the logo. The program I used is called GIMP[www.gimp.org], which is very similar to photoshop, except it's free. It's not an intuitive program to get started with, though once you get used to it, it can be very quick and efficient.

The alpha channel in tga must be set properly. Most people make the mistake of not adding any alpha channel or setting it so the whole image is transparent. Once that is done you can just place it in the logo folder.

I've used paint.net - also free - and using TGAs and transparency files, have created a template that can be used to position logos and lettering in the correct spaces (in layers above) then when complete, the template layer can be deleted, the others merged down and then saved as a TGA without RLE compression.

The logos I've done so far - all British railway companies - are on Steam in the TF workshop and when I've updated them today with GWR, I'll try to upload the template image as well.
