trouble downloading the latest patch of Transport Fever called 'Thank you Patch'

Dear support

I'm having trouble downloading the latest patch of Transport Fever called 'Thank you Patch'

Everytime I start the download it downloads the whole patch, but for some reason it automaticly cancels the download at the end, making me download again, and again, and again...

I've searched the internet for help, tried everything from deleting Transport Fever to deleting my whole steam with all games, yet with no succes....

It's also the only thing that won't download, I can download the base game, I can download CSGO, Civilization,...

Please help :(

I guess you tried verifying game files.
Complete uninstall and reinstall should do the same.

Try running Steam in administrator mode. If it is installed in c:\program files it can and will cause problems.
Best to install it somewhere else (C:\SteamLibrary, etc) so you don't have unexplainable permissions problems.

It's being installed on a external hard drive

I've tried all you said, I even checked for RAM or HDD problems, nothing..

It's weird, it's only for this game, like not the game even, just the patch, I have this problem.

Can you confirm which build you are currently running please ?

Built as in which version of the game? I can't see that, unless there's a way to find out outside of the game, as I can't launch the game

Well OK , if you uninstall the game does it reinstall properly , or have you tried running in offline mode to see if the game will launch .

Maybe there are better ideas though .

Yep, you don't want to know the amount of times I redownloaded the game.. offline mode doesn't work either, thanks for the help though

OK , next up try changing the version of the game you are looking to use back to an older one - see if that makes any difference. Hopefully this can help narrow down where the problem is.

Ah... indeed.
You can check the TransportFever.exe file, it is 46 352 592 bytes for Windows version. And for some reason it has a 02 Jan 2019 file date on my computer. I have no idea why, patch was released on 18 Dec.

Okay, problem has been fixed!

Steam went through my workshop and it seemed not all my mods got unsubscribed

So, yeah, I'm stupid :D

Well I've reinstalled Steam this week to a different drive, then moved TpF (because the game, saves and mods were over 50Gb). At that time, immediately after being moved, it downloaded about 15Gb (complete base game and all Steam mods), and since then every time I check Steam it is updating some TpF content. So yeah. Who knows.
