Lags after minimizing the game
When I minimize the game (by pressing ALT + TAB) in order to do sth on the desktop, the game starts lagging when I maximize it. The same bug was in Train Fever and I hoped it was fixed with Transport Fever. No mods installed, I play in fullscreen mode and the lag only disappears after restarting the game. Saving and loading the savegame without restarting the game does not work.
Since I like to do numerous other things while playing (e.g. changing my music, watching videos, replying to chats) that require to minimize the game for a moment, this bug is very unpleasant for me and I don't want to play the game anymore if it doesn't get fixed. For now I'm returning the game because of this.

Exact same problem I'm having. Really enjoying the game and can work around not being able to delete bridges. But the game basically crashing, it's running so slow, isn't something I can get past.

Same here, it's very disappointing - what could be a great game is ruined by being unable to switch to something else without introducing crippling lag or waiting 5 minutes for the game to restart.

Any words from the devs if this might be fixed in one of the next patches? If it's already fixed, I couldn't find it in the patch notes.

I have not seen any mention of minimizing or alt-tabbing in the most recent set of release notes for the beta builds. However, a number of other performance-related and stability issues are being addressed. I'll say that, anecdotally, I've not had any performance issues with alt-tabbing since the beta build released, with the caveat that I only rarely had such issues even before that.

Sadly, I can confirm even with the latest build. Alt-Tab will still randomly cripling lag :steamsad:

Get GPU-Z and let it run besides TransportFever.exe. You are able to log the usage of the GPU into a logfile.

I've experienced, that my GTX 760 will slow down to 135 Mhz while tabbing out of the game. Perhaps your GPU is slowing down and don't get up again while tabbing back?

If this is the case, you could try to make a Profile for TpF on NVIDIA driver base. You could play around with the power-setting (try maximum and take a look if this fixes your problem).

On the other hand i could observe a VERY BAD multicore-usage of the game (yep, even after the "performance-patch". The executable is using one core at maximum performance, while all other cores are nearly unemployed...

I tried updating my GTX 760 drivers to 376.33 and it has fixed the alt-tab bug/lag for me. I did reset to default settings for a clean install and did the beta patch.

With game computer from ASUS lag sets in after two hours of play. This is fixed for another two hours by exiting the game to desktop after a save then restarting the game to continue. A parallel to this behaviour would be a buffer holding temporary data filling up and that data then saved and recalled from a slower access such as a disk drive.
