you have to upgrade route with bus way
take care to not intersection because it make car wait
make bus stop only before a right turn intersection and never after for not stuck the both
add as much station and stop you can and make the line follow the free ways
for truck cargo unload them at bus stops near commercial and industrys
your personnal roads have to be out of the jams and you have to draw some complex path that spend less time than direct way trought jams

Sometimes the trick is to give the trucks a dedicated route that goes away from where traffic will go. Adding a small extra road with your route going one-way can make it a little longer but it will stay traffic free.

Try to avoid trucks crossing carraigeways by giving them a flyover and loop back to the road or a tunnel with loop.

evry solution make you loose money but a huge jam can be worst than detour

You can add waypoints for buses and trucks, and it's always worth building a bypass of every city if the vehicle isn't stopping there

"How do i stop traffic jams?"
I always use trams. Trams are nice, and can be way better than buses regarding rate (passengers/time period). Generally I go for under 60s frequency. Sometimes 20-25s with trams of 54 capacity (Avenio TZ München, so nice). Build enough lines in your cities so your sims don't need to use cars. Always connect the lines to your passenger railway stations.
I have several 3k+ towns grown together in a 15k-20k population metropolis with barely any road traffic except my trams and passenger trains.

Just build more roads and use bus stops and way points to route buses/lorries away from traffic jams!.

Bigger roads with bus lanes
(Trams instead of busses help. But the game does have a problem moving people around intra-city.)

i tested a city full of 6lane road
they still stop if any one atempt to cross their way
as a train can do
thet drive strangely
all at the right
none at the two other lanes
else for turn left later or if a bus way

No matter how many buses, trams, trains, roads etc you build, you will always get trafficjams in the end!

if you build road more long tha needed the AI will not use them
tought for me the car era is unpalayable due to lag

If it means anything, Transport Fever 2 will have traffic lights in just a few weeks.

seem transport fever lost something from the 1
is im wrong
I would kinda recommend making a seperate route for the buses and trucks.
If that does not work then if you have not try upgrading the roads
