Euro vs. America Differences
I haven't played a Euro map yet. What differences in how the trains run over there should I expect?

Only difference is different rolling stock.

There's different vehicles, that's all. Some years are better for the US vehicles, and some are better for the European vehicles depending on which vehicles are unlocked.
No differences in how the trains roll on the track?

There are differences in terrain and street styles also.

Why would there be? Same thing, different country. What kind of differences you thought there could be?

I thought it was well-known that European trains all run upside-down ;)

Well, the Brits drive on the wrong side of the road. The trains don't run on the left side in Europe?

Some places do left-hand running, on roads and/or on rails. In TpF you have control of that for rail vehicles (with the caveat that signals are always on the right side of the track), but no control over road traffic.

The difference is in the whistle. A European whistle goes Yoddle Lay Heeee Hoooo and a American whistle goes Toot Toot.

I thought everyone knew that.... No? Then I dunno ;-)

Here my 2 cent opinion... Europe cargo rail car - low capacity VS American cargo rail car. Europe has fast electric trains ( later date ) VS American. Europe has more choice in street car VS American. American cargo truck ( later year ) higher capacity VS Europe. Europe has high capacity buses VS Amercan ( later year ).

Well ...it depend on your preference ... For me ... I like American ... it is the cargo ...

I'm sure you know this, but in North America (non urban transit) rails are mostly single-track or bi-directional marked by miles (Canada and USA both)! Identified by south/north or east/west track if there are only two parallel tracks, and by number if there are more tracks. And signals often are on the outer tracks, but often there are signal heads above when there are more than two parallel tracks!

It's not the wrong side and no we are not the whole of Europe.
The only real difference as far as trains go, is that European scenario trains are generally much quicker, particuarly towards the later years.
During the 80's the Westfleet power cars and unpowered coaches are quicker than any comparable european stock, but that is an exception to the rule.
Hope that helps, but up yours about the "wrong side of road".
Don't forget which country gave you your language and what country saved the V8 engine you guys seem to love so much.

Unless you have the mod with left hand trains signals like I do.
