HOW DO WE DOWNLOAD TRAINS FROM WORKSHOP?
Ok I am fed up with searching. I have searched, and searched for ways to download workshop trains and can't find anything, no links, and no discussions providing a clear, and exact way to download anything.

There is literally no instructions, no buttons, no quick links, and no information on how to do this. How is there no links or way to download files for these trains? WTF, am I just missing something so obvious or do I have to literally navigate a complex network of clicks to find this ♥♥♥♥?

Is there no subscribe button on the workshop page? Clicking that is all that's needed I believe. I'm using no mods in Tpf but It is for every other game I run with mods.

I'm wondering too. You just click "subscribe" and the mod should download automatically, If you need to know how to enable mods in the game, that's a different question.

Don't forget that even if you've Subscribed to a train mod, most trains are time dependant- meaning they are only available between specific dates.

As I understand it, when you "subscribe" to a mod, it's not actually downloaded (though you can). It's "linked" to your game and you can use it IF your internet connection is up. The "mod" itself stays on Steam.

Mods are downloaded into your user data directory. So also available when set steam in offline mode.

You enable a mod in the free game menu or the load menu for a save game.

I'm subscribed to like 100 differant trains but they havent downloaded at all. I dont think that works. If so it would have begun downloading as soon as I logged into steam. They do not show up in free match either.

Maybe it's a dumb question but have you done these two things?

Mega requires that you tweak your settings to allow for experimental map sizes

If you enable the no end date then vehicals are always avalible after they unlock.

Also don't forget that a number of locos will have an "available from" year - if that year is in your game's future, the loco won't show up in game either...

Ok here was the problem, I was trying to wait for trains to download to a map I already began before I subscribed to all the train skins. I found out that I gotta starte a whole new map, and "enable" all of the mods in settings before a map. Which totally blows because I got like 50-100 hrs into this 1 map already. Ugh...So lame

You can also add mods to an existing save, after selecting the save press the plus sign in the top right of the mods list, than add the desired mods.

If I'm understanding you correctly I can take a save game that has NO mods and add mods to it? Is that true?

This sounds great could you provide a screenshot or two? I can't seem to figure out how that works.

Nevermind! I found the plus you were talking about on the Load Screen
