When you plop the new station down and connect tracks, the paths recalculate again as before, however since the flipped train is already heading to the next stop, it won't change because it's on a valid path.
This behavior isn't so much a bug, as the path finding mechanic of the game reacting to what you have done; removing it's stop.
Since this the path finding mechanic is fundamental to the game I would be suprised if it's ever changed.
To prevent the flip is pretty simple once you understand why it happens.
When making tack modifications or deleting a station:
- Pause game
- Try to avoid having trains approaching on the path you are about to demolish.
- If you use double track layouts, place one signals in the proper directions (this prevents most flipping) Just one or two signals will do placed at a stratigic spots on the lines' path.
- After all your construction is done check the effected paths and make sure they are going where they are supposed to.
On a large complex map it renders the game unplayable. Urban games have a VERY unhappy customer!
