[Electric] Pro: Excelent HST capability, Fast, Some pretty cool looking models (mods/in-game). Con : Expensive AF (Train itself + track upgrades) , early models have poor traction compared to steam and diesel, dont look as good with double headers/push-pull

So I go for diesel and busses.
for passenger going electric around 1960- 70s as you likely have most of your passenger lines up and running and possibly have set up electricication and high speed rail and hopefully got your lines flat ish as possible.
