Double slip switches?
A really quick question: Is there any way to construct double slip switches?

I watched a fancy dev update for a long time ago where they demonstrated how good and flexible the new rail system was going to be, but now when I finally bought the game (which I hope will give me many fun hours of gameplay) I still can't manage to construct the very fundamental and important double slip crossing (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Railroad_switch#Double_slip). Did they really not manage to get this feature into Transport fever (after the requests for it in Train Fever) or have I just not understood how to construct it? :)

I haven't found a way to build one :steamsad:

Unfortunately it doesn't allow double slip (even if some times track crossing another piece looks like it could handle a train taking the angle as a slip) I'm sure if it gets added (which it could) it will likely lead to the infamous "Too much slope" message.

Why are u unable to do this. It should be possible using signals and waypoints to guide the trains.

It's not that it's not possible to shift trains across lines, it's just that it's requires more track and connections than an actual double slip would require (since the track crossing other track can also be turned onto or from)

ah ok. sad implementation :(

Yes I was able to make it. The thing is it requires really good terrain and not too much slope as it says.

No, a double slip is (scroll down a bit):
http://www.dccwiki.com/Crossing

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/7/78/Double_slip_at_Munich_central.jpg/170px-Double_slip_at_Munich_central.jpg

The closest I can get with a single track is...
http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/400086242629718956/101046CB80DBE804A2210D8BA2E00AB109883E57/

Which of course, isnt a double slip switch.

So if somebody has actually created one that works, I would love to see how.

Hey there, here is my attempt on a hill. It takes about 1 track more of horizontal space than the actual double slip switch but works in the same way.

And another one capable of more speed in flat terrain:

It looks nice and I can anticipate many uses for it.

Thanks for your post and the challenge!

Does the Double Slip need to be built at the end of a train station?
How big do u want it to be ?

Not quite.. um those pics do work, what he's talking about is a true double switch; which those pics do not show.. See how in the pics.. there's those outside tracks that a train will get on if it's going from the ride side to the ride side..? If u Remove those on both sides it's a double switch.. So two straight tracks crossing each other and a train can either go left or right track..

Get if? two tracks, crossing at X. that's it. What we got here is: )X(
