Crop field needed for farm production?
I want to build a new cargo line with food as product. If I would build my line through a farm, than I have to destroy some crop fields. Is the amount of fields relevant for the production and the maximum output? Does the farm generate new fields if I would destroy some?

No they are not.
They are just cosmetic.
But they cost a lot to remove.

Also it can't be undone, and removing them makes the map look more barren and less realistic/detailed.
I usually go around to preserve the map aesthetics.
