I have to admit you aren't the only one to note it as being one of those repeated messages that gets your attention :/

All I can suggest is keep an eye on the elevation arrow when laying track in segments, if you keep it positioned flat then you'll have less instances of "too much slope".

The weird thing is that, if you finally manage to find a point in the tracks where the X sections finally get built, it appears literally like there is a step on the tracks. However your trains don't seem to mind it, and act as if the tracks were perfectly plain.

I got this message while trying to add electric lines to my track. I had to bulldoze the road, put the lines in and remake the road. But hey, how about another fanboy come along and tell us how awesome the new track building tools are.

No more fanboys around, I noticed. They are too busy to find workarounds to the game's shortcomings and bugs. :-D

However, before a fanboy actually comes here to insult me. I love this game, but loving it doesn't mean to be blind to its faults.

I am far more ammoyed that i now get the message when trying to upgrade tracks or even put a catenary on it, the track works fine, but is to steep for a catenary ?

It's the way the upgrade works unfortunately. It needs to have more space for embankments when putting a catenary. So, the only workaround is upgrading tracks segment by segment (holding the shift key) and deleting and rebuilding the segments that won't upgrade.

Thank you soo much!! I have had so much trouble with "Too much slope", but clicking the elevation arrow to flat, fixed it every single time:steamhappy::steamhappy:!

You need constant gradiënt track, so first you need to build a piece with manual elevation. (fixed to horizontal, light or steep)
Next you build a long enough piece on the same setting (horizontal, light or steep).
Double the track by dragging a new one next to it. On the long stretch, you can build all the switches you want. ;)

Thank you. Until today I thought, that the arrow is only informational... :( It solved most of slope problems :D
