Stuck on America mission 2
I have no clue where Harold Brown's laboratory is.It says click on cross hairs and then zooms out the map to where there is like 100 buildings.Do you have to click on the right building?

Lol. This building is right on camera after crosshair click.

Cosshair as in the circle in upper left corner? When I do it just zooms out with no screen to click a camera.

I figured it out.I had missed a step.

There will be an exclamation mark ( ! ) on top of the laboratory.

You can also select the focus button. Left top corner of the window where the mission is shown.

What was this step you missed? This is driving me crazy...

I can't find the exclamation mark anywhere in the city. The crosshair centers over an intersection but the exclamation mark isn't anywhere to be seen. I've zoomed in and out, and searched every block of buildings in the city multiple times from different angles:angry_creep:. It's been something like 30 in-game years now, I'm planning to bank a few dozen $M and start demolishing every industrial building in the city.

I had to if I remember right was select the quest and then a yellow ! and then it zoomed over the laboratory right in the center.

Yeah, there's no yellow mark, I've looked everywhere as well. Same as Fwootamala...

I'm just going to restart the mission and finish the previous quests faster so that the cities are still relatively small possibly making this easier.

I am wondering since I installed new bridges around the city if I had "accidentally" destroyed the lab before the quest became active which is why it is nowhere to be found.

Once you start the Dr. Brown quest, there's an intermediate step—you have to go to (I think) Pittsburgh Southside, and there should be a yellow hovering exclamation point with some info that alludes to him developing the electric chair. Only after that can you "zoom" to his laboratory, which is at the southeast corner of Pittsburgh North Shore (or whatever that section of Pittsburgh) is called, a little down and to the right of Tesla's lab.

You can't bulldoze the building until you've gone through all the steps, so it's impossible to accidentally destroy it before going through the quest line.

Well that's not good. The exclamation mark is what I've been looking for, I've watched a few plays on youtube and figured the initial zoom was useless. I just don't see that icon anywhere. I've zoomed in and out, panned, and scrolled over the entire city several times. There's got to be a glitch. Either the icon is missing or burried in a taller building? I guess I'll start over.

I just ran a quick Google and looked over the guide at Game Pressure[guides.gamepressure.com], and while their guides can be a little hit or miss sometimes in terms of actually providing useful information (I also think that they have a number of guides-writers for whom English isn't a first language, so they often lack for clarity), it might help (or it might not).

The gist is basically:
  1. Click on the question mark in Pittsburgh Eastern to start the Dr. Brown subquest.
  2. Find the exclamation point in Pittsburgh Central (I don't remember this part, but whatever).
  3. Go talk to whoever (i.e. Exclamation Point) in Pittsburgh Southside
  4. Bulldoze laboratory in North Shore.

If you do have to start over, the good news is that it's both a pretty quick mission overall, and it's pretty quick to re-reach that point in the mission specifically.

Definitely broke this first time around, no idea on how I did it though, the explanation mark popped up properly this time to start the entire quest. Its not hard to find if it pops up correctly.

Upon replaying the 2nd half of the scenario, (lucky for me I saved at a good point), the exclaimation mark was immediatly visible when the mission popped up. Must have been a glitch. Many thanks to @Landwalker04 for saving me the trouble of bulldozing half a city, which would have pissed me off when it didn't work.
