Unable to create diamond crossover.
Most of my attempts to create a diamond crossover at the end of a station has failed with "too much slope". I can create one side of the crossover, on either side, but the second crossover fails. I do this all the time in Train Fever. Considering some of the amazing track crossovers I have seen, I am disappointed that such a simple common junction fails.

Yes I've experienced this today

I tried the same thing earlier today and got the same message.

I'm positive they showed this in one of their preview videos. Chalk it up to more lies from the devs

Oh it is possible but on flat track only. Like they don't exist in slopes in the real world. Also this is possible:

Yes, I made several of those crossings.
That weird part, pasiltd, happens when you drag at a too large angle I guess. Same with roads, sometimes they naked a weird turn when you only want a straight road.

do you not read that it has "to much slope"
Sich Nov 9, 2016 @ 3:15am
you can have problem when you make the first connection too short... Try to make something bigger... I have some issue with that too.

Yes, I can read that, however, when you make the switch from left to right it works, when you make the switch from right to left it works. It only doesn't "always" work when you try to complete the diamond. If it was "too much slope" then it should happen when making the single switch also.

I make these switches right after the station, so trains coming out of the station can immediately get on the right track. I do this all the time in Train Fever, and make the switches at 50 kph. I can try longer, faster switches, however, it appears there is a problem here.

I usually try dragging the track to the other track from the other side. Or sometimes I have to remove that single cross over and start from the other track instead.

ya diamond's are tricky to make, and cannot be done on curves, needs to be mostly straight.

the switch type I miss, and would like to be making, is the 3way switch.

at least the track building system is vastly improved over Train fever, gotta love it.

Hi there, I also have real big Problems in making a Diamond Crossing infront of my Stations, never had any in train fever. here the underground must be really flat, and it seems when placing the first side of the crossing, the track moves appart. And I always get the note, unlikely in german : STEIGUNG ZU GROSS????? .... I am really lost about this, as I need the crossings to guide my Trains correctly..... Really strange. Are there any solutions about this?.....

Zooming in close can help sometimes, since it allows you to try more positions for the end. Working from the other end can also work. For me at least, it's raised tracks (on embankments) that give me the most trouble. I've been able to build them on gentle slopes, and even inside of turns (via zooming in method) where the track is on the ground or in a valley, but I have a couple stations with one end being a bit elevated where I just had to suck it up and put two switches end to end instead.

Keeping the incline constant works. Following these steps:

1) After the end of the plat form make a short straight segment with a fixed incline (flat, 1 or 2). This will initiate the incline.
2) Continue laying the track using the same incline grade as set in step 1. Make this segment longer than the intended diamod cross-over.
3) Make the crossover.

You can make crossovers on soft curves too. It will not work on hard curves or in hairpins.

Please give me an example of something the devs lied about. In terms of the rails being far more controlable see these: You wouldn't be able to do any of that in Train Fever.
