We need more control over the placement of catenary poles
I know this might be a little bit nitpicky for some, but I don't really like how this game handles the placement of the catenary poles. You set up a track with overhead wiring, and the poles will always be at the right side of the track. That's fine. But when you're trying to build several switches, sometimes the poles will switch from one side to another depending on which direction you're building your latest track, and close to the switches some poles will directly be in the physical path of the trains. This is really annoying for me and it's kind of a bummer when building electrified networks. Most of this stuff could be easily solved if we were at least allowed to switch the placement of the poles of an individual section of track with a button, command or something. I don't think there's any mod that does that.

EDIT - Another thing I forgot to mention is that sometimes when you're placing signals on a single track, the poles will change their position for no reason. Why does this happen? It's really annoying when you're trying to make everything look decent in a terminal.

try a mod ffrom workshop? pauls!

Paul's mod only switches the side of the catenary from right to left permanently. Is not a proper solution. What I do want is being able to switch the catenary of a single track section with a command.

I agree. This needs fixed. I have already had to redesign whole sections of my layout just to get around this graphics glitch.

There is a somewhat similar situation with the electricity poles for trams when they cross railroad tracks. The poles usually end up in the middle of the train tracks. Especially if there is more than one track.

I never really tried mixing electric train tracks with electric tram tracks, but I always wondered how that can be possible considering the tram cables are way below the train cables. I don't even know if this is possible in real life, but I may be wrong. Engineers surely know better about this than I do.

I had at one time a railroad track at a crossing, and when i stepped in the cabin to look how it goes? There was a cantenary pole IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RAIL TRACK! WHHAAAAAAA!

I agree, this is something that should be improved, but since it's only a graphical issue, it's not that high on the devs list. ;)
Maybe they will find time to do something about it after the performance patch.

I do agree that is not really a game breaking issue, but for people who care too much about the details like me this is kind of a bummer. I know most players don't care about those small details, though. I hope they can also work on the wires themselves a bit, specially on the crossings. The upper part of the wire goes upwards in a crossing like if there was an invisible pole attached to it.

Also poles are WAY too close to eachother specially on straight sections of the tracks. There should be a greater distance between poles (except for tight curves obviously). I'm sure it will improve performence if poles are reduced.
