High speed tracks?
What is the maximum speed of the normal tracks and the minimum for the high speed one? Because I just started getting trains at 90mph but I don't know when to switch to high speed tracks. Thanks!

When you have trains that can go faster than 120km/h then you can consider upgrading the tracks to high-speed (using theupgrade tool) on those routes, and laying high-speed tracks on new routes. High speed tracks cost 60% more than standard tracks, but otherwise there is no disadvantage to running slower trains on the high-speed track.

it's written on the when laying straight tracks. 120km/h (around 75mph) for normal and 300km/h (190mph) for fast.

Most "90" mph trains won't go that fast (you have to have a LONG flat piece of track for it to get up to that speed). Also the speed of the train depends on load, terrain, max speed of the cars it's pulling, etc. Eventually you'll NEED to upgrade to high-speed tracks, but you don't have to as soon as they become available.

There are also mods with even faster track if you need it and ones that add track with speed control. I have one and I love it. There are a few on the Workshop and I am sure there are some on www.transportfever.net.

When I get a fast train setup on a normal track I watch how fast it goes on that track. If it reaches the track speed limit before it reaches the next stop I upgrade the track to high speed.
