Is Mission 06 in the American campaign Bugged?
By July 1945 Exported 5000 Fuel & Imported 6000 Goods
August 1950 got the Like Lightning
Played unitl 1956 and Busy Pumpers never triggered
Investment never triggered though I never got close to $75M Cash
Managed to get every well empty or negative by 1956. Is THAT required by 1955?

BTW has ships trying to ship from the offshore well had ships as frequently as every six minutes and never got a drop of crude.

Note how one well has actually gone negative? The other "non-empty" one did that too when I got into 1956.

I'm cross-posting this under support as well.

Yes, but as far as I can tell I met ALL the conditions already. Why no completion medal? I can certainly ramp up the trains to empty the other well before 1955 but will that solve the problem. The meission was to export 5000 fuel which I did easily 10 years before the end date.

Because it requires a frequency of 180 seconds and travel time of 360 seconds on the last task. Only the travel time condition is met.

This mission requires carefull calculations to beat the date. One of them includes NOT getting the patent. And, you can train ship to New Orleans. The port and dock is a bonus movement of crude oil.

I don't see the 180 second requirement anywhere and I've already GOT the lightning medal. It's the busy pumpers and the one about not having too much money that never triggered.

Did you actually complete the mission? Did you get the victory screen? Those two medals you haven't gotten in the screenshot are only given at the end of the mission. Since you still have the Houston to New Orleans task, that seems to indicate that you haven't completed the mission.

Basically, do whatever you did in the mission, but get everything done before 1955 and don't go above $75M in the bank.

Regarding why the mission hasn't completed, what does the Houston to New Orleans task say that you need to achieve. I believe Canophone is right in that the frequency needs to be 180 seconds whereas your current average frequency is 252 seconds. Basically add more trains to the line. The Like Lightning Medal only requires the journey time to be less than 5 minutes/300 seconds, and you're at 247 seconds average journey time. With the journey time and frequency you have, I suspect you only have two trains on the line, since the numbers are similar. 4 trains on the line would give you a frequency of around 124 seconds or so.

Interesting note with this mission, depending on the route you take, you can complete the Houston to New Orleans task with 3 100kph M-300's. They accelerate and are fast enough to handle the terrain, and give you a good enough travel time/frequency to meet the mission objectives.

Once I got the frequency down below 180 seconds the mission completed and all the medals were awarded.

My problem was that the 180 second requirement didn't show anywhere.

It says it in the highlighted blue text on the Mission information screen for that task:

"Connect Houston and New Orleans with a train line and ensure that an average journey time of less than 360 seconds and a frequency of less than 180 seconds are achieved."

Right you are! I'm not sure how I missed it the first time.

I'd like to know why the offshore well doesn't work. I've switched production off and back on, which produced a strange result. When production is turned "Off" a bunch of Oil containers appear and when I turn it back on they disappear.

Cheers,

It worked OK for me. It was a good challenge that one! I started the ships early. I think i left them filling up at the rig and had another waiting behind to take its place to keep the tap running so to speak. The train to Nawleans was a challenge too. Needed to build up cash on shorter goods and passenger routes and by shifting goods with lorries, then use the cash to build a straight dual line, no stops, between the two cities. I like these challenges - the game needs more , please

Oh, one other thing - forgive me if Im stating the obvious - but the game logic seems to be based on supply and demand. You can shift crude to the refinery but if its not moved on as fuel or to a plastic works then there is no demand on the refinery. If the town is not big enough to demand the fuel, or there is no factories demanding plastics, the refinery demand is reduced and oil well production decreases. At the end of the day you need to grow towns using (I believe) passenger transport and supplying food and goods. This creates demand for manufactured goods, which creates demand for the raw materials. In my current freestyle game I grew a city to over 4000 population using passenger transport and almost no goods or food. (Not deliberately). I started supplying goods and its now over 6000. (The year is 2410 by the way !) My point is passenger transport is very important, but often in the quest for cash it is less profitable.

In this mission the Harbor has demand for Fuel, and it will accept all the Fuel you can deliver to it. In my last attempt I ramped up the output of the Refinery significantly higher with Trucks than I did hauling by trains. In this case, Frequency of a line had a significant impact on the production and thus demand at the Refinery. Otherwise yes, in Freeplay, if you don't transport the Refined Oil or Fuel onwards to a buyer, it won't produce, and demand for Crude Oil will drop. You generally only get the initial demand for Crude Oil to satisfy the initial demand for the Refinery to fill up it's internal storage.

Passenger travel and growing the towns is not particularly important in this misson, except the final task which is the trip between New Orleans and Houston. That task can be done with a decently straight line between the two cities and 3-4 M-300's. Because the M-300's have a really good Power to Weight Ratio, they can easily handle most hill climbs you throw at them, so it's not that hard to get a more direct route, even if you have to go up and over the mountain to save money.

Cargo is demand driven in this game. Factories will only produce and distribute cargo if there are buyers for that cargo. If there are no buyers, cargo will not show up at one of your stations. A game like Mashinky is supply driven. A factory will produce and dump cargo at one of your stations, even if you never have a train show up to haul it away, or even if that station is not connected up to anywhere else.

Think there is an issue with this medal. Got journey time to 307 seconds and once frequency dropped below 180 the mission ended in 1949 with all medals awarded apart from this one?
GeeBee Nov 25, 2019 @ 5:55am
Just realised I need journey time under 300. Getting the medal mixed up with the separate task that requires frequency to be under 180 seconds
Hi
I can't finish the last task "Importer". I played it 3x different ways (rails, ships and trucks) and still nothing.I dont know what is wrong :(
