The view from an TTD (openTTD) ocd long life player. (sort of review)
Hello,

I figured i should put this here so other people can react, maybe, who also did allot of the other mentioned games.
In my opinion this game is only compareable with any of the older Transport Tycoon games, hence i will.
Somehow i still hope it will be its succesor after all these years...
And i hope some developers read it and perhaps react or do something ;) (before we all go back to the old games in the matter of time)

FYI, i have not bothered with Train Fever before, it missed the total picture of global transport (ships etc.), Transport fever however is right on the spot!

Most of u should know that whoever plays this game will, in the end on serious plays, try to make huge complex systems of mostly trains.
At this moment ofcourse we aren't able to, mainly because of not beeing able to dock on multiple platforms.
Sure i got dual and more lines running nicely, untill the stations ;)
I Suppose none has figured a workaround yet?
Will You developers try to get this to work?

Also i noticed a memory leak after around 3 hours of play, sad panda!
I havent really found others with this, anyone?

Now when we got the top fixed, we got the bigger picture to get years into this game, then we hope multiplayer comes up like the genius people of openTTD ;) (Fingers crossed for this in Transport Fever!!!)

So then i ask to the ocd. people among you, did anyone find a way fast way to propperly and perfectly align the signals on dual lines?
Because seriously its taking ages to perfect on the lines, especialy when a junction lookalike thing pops up! (i haven't perfected mine yet sadly, one side is always just this bit longer or more bend).
Speaking about it, can you guys implement some fixed track pieces or like 45/90 degree fixed corners?
Or do modders have to fix that?

Well this was just my thing after my first few hours, its quite easy to pickup the game and all its underlying details if ur familiar with transport games in general.
Just to perfect it.... man, impossible at the moment! help!! :P

Regards,

The bigger the map, the more population there is, and the more RAM it takes to remember them. There is no leak in the game, just the longer you play the more agents on the map (population/cargo) all of that takes more RAM to use. If you are running out of RAM, then you might need to run on smaller maps.

Game takes time to perfect, those with Train Fever experience will quickly pickup the game, those without, will take time. Just try and play the game as it is, instead of trying to play a different game. Basically, play TPF with the tools TPF gives you, which are more then enough to solve any logistical issues you might come up with. Instead of trying to play XXXX other game as so many other whining posts have clearly done.

Yes, yes, another thread that there is no game better than OTTD.
