Achievement stories/problems here!

How are people coming along with their achievements? I still have a long ways to go. It seems a few have gotten all the medals for one of the campaigns but no one all the medals for both.

The next achivement I need (and the easiest I haven't done yet) is Metropolis. I'll be starting a medium game on a hilly map to get that and also (I hope) 'No Free Seats', 'Cannot Get Enough', Complete Coverage', 'Commerce Provider', perhaps the higher speed achievements, 'Glacier Express' and 'Museum Line'.

The most difficult achievement I've done so far (by percentage completed) is 'Industrialist'. I did that the same game I got 'Truck Fever'.

I've only gotten all the medals for the first three missions in each campaign, so a long ways to go there.

Yep, it was only possible to get the Campaign Medals achievements with the recent patch that is currently in Beta that you can opt into. The two missions that were preventing it were USA #4, and Europe #7.

I'm curious about the Glacier Express medal though. Does it require a line to have a difference of 450m from it's low point to high point, or just at some point get to 450m in elevation?

For the Train Fever achievement, does require to only using trains? No buses, trucks, ships or planes? Likewise by the reading of Truck Fever, I'm guessing you can use everything but trains?

Glacier Express only requires that the line reach 450m of elevation. And your reading of Truck Fever and Train Fever are both correct—I got Truck Fever with trucks, buses, trams, and even airplanes (although by then I already had the achievement and was just carrying on for giggles / the $1B (Hard) Achievement).

As far as progress, I'm making decent progress. I don't have any of the six campaign achievements yet, and I'm missing Museum Line and Antique, but that's it. Museum Line and Antique should be easy to get on my next free play game, though, so I'm not worried about them.

I 'cheated' and got the Train Fever achievement on an easy map, as the extra money is nice allowing you to do some city remodeling to place your stations for max coverage, since you can't use bus/tram lines.

I got the antique achievement in the same game. I created my one and only passenger line around 1890 and never updated it.

A number of the achievements are pretty easy to cheese on. I won't go into the details here (that's for would-be achievers to figure out!), but I won't lie and pretend like I didn't create a couple of Easy free play games specifically to "snipe" certain achievements (like Glacier Express).

I still need to do USA #6 and #7, and Europe #3-7 (haven't made it very far on the European campaign yet...). Currently flailing my way around USA #6.

Managed 26 EU and 27 US medals so far! (Actually managed more, but they didn't count as they were after mission completion or got overwritten by reruns)

First electric train, transport shark and tycoon, Crowd in a train, no free seats, city, metropolis, mass production, the ugly smell of success, and first aircraft arrived. All this past weekend on one map. I was going for Penny Pincher (Hard Mode) for the last few weeks and needed a break from that and did a flat map on easy.

To anyone that's gotten the hard mode achievements, do you also get the other achievement if you haven't gotten it yet?

What's the best way to go about completing Ugly Smell of Success?

I would say just let it happen , it will do as your passenger network grows . Stopping the trains outside the station I guess if you are close and just want a few more to wait.
