Europe Mission 7 -Channel Tunnel
Despite setting up correct transport depots (trucks) the Canterbury Forest production is low or stops. The line usage says "Yes".
More important, the Saw Mill line usage says "No", even though the depot from here to dock is connected by a line served by various trucks, and a ship is waiting at the dock to take the planks to the French side!
Is there a bug in the game? Any help would be appreciated.

Is there a build up of materials somewheres along the chain? When too much is sitting somewheres it will cause production along the chain to slow down or even stop untill it is dealt with. In that particular mission you only need half as much planks as you need coal for the entire chain (you are getting 2 steel for every 1 coal). So if you were trying to ship similar amounts of them than the plank production is going to slow down.

There is no build up. It simply will not get the Line Usage to change from "No" to "Yes". This depsite having the truck depot and vehicles moving between the depots (one beside the Saw Mill and the other beside the dock.

You'll need to show pictures of the chain or something in order to be more helpful. The chances of it being a bug seem quite slim. In every other instance of someone having similar problems it has always turned out to be user-error.

Thanks

But actually it is a BUG. A very annoying one. As documented in this very long thread here http://steamcommunity.com/app/446800/discussions/0/154641879450999087/

I've created a post in the Support section so hopefully Devs can fix it for the next patch.

Proving it is a near impossible mission to complete, look at the Global Stats for the game. Only 0.1% of people have managed to complete the "Tycoon of Europe" medal. And even then, the only way to get close to doing it on time is loading 12+ ships of Planks, 12+ ships of Coal, stopping them mid-ocean and 'starting' the mission. Such a bad way to complete this mission. I've tried multiple times but encounter the same as OP mentions - the Sawmill stops producing even though there's no stored resources of planks anywhere and there is clear demand.

I don't think you have read what this thread is about. He is not talking about the medal at all. He is talking about production not working. And when you say "a near impossible mission to complete" I assume you mean doing all the medals. Because simply completing the mission is not that hard at all.

Well to say the last part of the mission is to transport 1000 goods through the tunnel, not having a working sawmill doesn't exactly help.

Yes I'm on about all the medals, I don't see the mission as complete unless all medals have been gained. What's the point in doing half a job ;)

Out of interest have you managed to deliver the required machines within the given time?

I have not no. I have only done the mission once and I could not identify what the time limit was for that section. I got 4 of the medals on it.

The Time limit is 6 years to deliver 800 to each side (or 1200 each if you don't deliver 10 to Hastings building). The factory doesn't ramp up enough production to create that many machines in that short space of time.

I'm absolutely shocked that they didn't get any beta testers to test the likely hood of getting this medal. And even more shocked 2 patches have been released since and still no fix

I managed to complete this mission very quickly, gaining all the medals (I think it's one of the few times I got all the medals - I haven't bothered to go back to retry missions where I failed to get all the medals)!. I just used lorries, buses (for profit) and ships to build the chunnel, selling all the ships and rerouting or selling most of the lorries once the chunnel was finished, then building the freight and passenger rail lines!. Getting all the freight through the chunnel seemed to take an age (passengers were easy), I thought I'd failed at least one or two medals but I was surprised to see I had them all!. I carried on with the mission and connected every town (either directly or indirectly -connecting trains) to a passenger rail line. The biggest problem I had was traffic jams, I had to trim down the number of busses and lorries (no trams) and build extra large connecting roads all over the place!. I really enjoyed this mission (not so much with other missions)!. Still can't believe I found it so easy!.

I also got a few 'No's from coal/logs, you got to your eye on the ball and buy more lorries (or move them from one line to another) and shift any backlog of cargo until you get a 'Yes' again!.

PS I also had three ferries operating accross the channel until the chunnel opened!.

You can make nice profits by setting up passenger rail lines on both sides of the chunnel before having to transport passengers across.
If I remember correctly, the way I got the goods through thte tunnel was by stipping all of my cargo ships - then there was no option :)

I have a problem on English side. The machine delivery stopped at 498 and it will not move, although they are being delivered constantly.
