Playable on laptop (no middle mouse wheel/button)?
I usually play games on my laptop to relax, sit behind my desktop all day for work.
Are the controls doable on a laptop? And how about mouse wheel/middle button, do you need it or is there an alternative?

If you can scroll with gestures (usually two fingers, swiping up and down) you're OK.

A mouse is very important but you don't need the wheel, zooming can be done with x and y and for selecting a line you need to scroll with the touchpad.

I hate the laptop's touch pad so I use a smaller USB mouse instead. The optical mouses today works on almost any surfaces and if the surface is a problem, just use a random paper/magazine or towel (basically anything with a random structure).

Same here. In fact, I dislike trackpads so much (and it keeps accepting inadvertant touches) that I turned on the option to disable the trackpad if a mouse were hooked up. I use a bluetooth mouse instead. However, I went though several before I found one that consistantly works as good as a wired one (a MS mouse).

Yeah ok, but I don 't have any trouble with my touchpad (and I really don't want to use a mouse on my laptop when I'm on the couch or bed). But is the wheel can be accessed with other controls like the keyboard, then it should be fine. Thanks!

You have to look it up in your laptop's manual.
I still would recommend a real mouse. I use mine on the couch, on the beach, in the bed, practically anywhere. If I don't find a surface I even use my own leg as a mouse pad.
