Now, I may not be a modder, but I have bright TpF ideas. Shinkansen is no exeption. I may be British, and into ships, as shows my profile, but I actually want something new. Who want's to sign this petition? I mean, they go as fast as TGVs, but the E4 Shinkansen has capacity for 817 seated passengers, because it's a double decker 8 car EMU, so that's a LOT more people. That will be the best high-speed train for mainline trunk routes (hence Shinkansen in Japanese means "New Trunk Route"). Any Shinkansen train can be requested (other than the L0). 0 Series, E1, 300 Series, E2, etc. If you want to ask for the L0, my friend hugedragonyk will be proud. Happy signing! :)

Friend Aardvark, you should ask permission from the original authors before uploading their work onto the steam workshop. We've had incidents like this before and it is not tolerated.
I asked PaTrond if he was aware you uploaded his Shinkansen 0 and he said he was not. Your upload has been reported.

And this is why we need to make sure everyone who wants to get into modding know they shouldn't upload someone else's work without asking.

I know the original author was going to request a takedown once he found out, and it's not because he's mean and nasty, he's simply protecting his intellectual property. I would do exactly the same. If he found out later, hundreds more people could have been affected.

We don't like taking down mods, we don't get thrills out of destroying people's savegames and it may even reduce people's trust in using mods.
But we take an even worse view of people re-releasing work that isn't theirs without even asking. It takes a lot of time and work to make these mods and someone else re-uploading it is akin to theft. It's why I've put a lot of effort into making sure my train fever mod patches are just patches and not a stand-alone mirror of the original.

Answering on the many requests on the Shinkansen... I am not willing to release the files without the approval of the owner. However, I will describe below the very simple fix to make these file workable:

1- Dowload the original Shinkasen "Model 0" file for Train Fever

2- Unzip it into your desktop

3A- Either edit the model files in res\models\mode\verhicle\train\shinkansen_t0_c#.mdl to change the reference to from ""vehicle/train/tgv/tgv_lod_0_w1.msh" to ""vehicle/train/tgv/lod_0_w1.msh""

3B- ALTERNATIVELY make a copy of the lod_0_w1.msh and lod_0_w1.msh.blob as tgv_lod_0_w1.msh and tgv_lod_0_w1.msh.blob in C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Transport Fever\res\models\mesh\vehicle\train\tgv (or wherever you have your steam library)

4- Install the mod in the mods folder


Basically, the models are compatible as they are except for the file reference to the TGV model which breaks any compatibility. It works the same way also for the 500 and 700.
